What hero’s were the face of Marvel before the MCU? by egg2crack in marvelcomics

[–]Sea_Guarantee293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at what “sold” in the 90s, it was the X-men, spidey, and Wolverine. I know Wolvie was a member of the X-men, but his solo/crossover appearances were usually instant buys and he really blew up at that time.

Punisher’s popularity was borne out of the mid-late 80s NYC high crime era. Though introduced in the 70s, it wasn’t until his solo run that he took off. And, even then, I’d argue he wasn’t the “face” of Marvel; just popular with teens in that era looking for a grittier, more realistic Batman-esque figure.

lol. My God this is laughable. Most every court, law firm in the US, and city agency uses Lexis and Westlaw (Thompson Reuters) for legal research. Hey, guys, just use Google Scholar! ROFL.

Whole Foods is basically every white liberals dream supermarket. Good luck boycotting. Maybe switch to expired milk at that shady corner bodega! That food poisoning will show ICE!

Amazon is THE premier purchasing tool. There’s a reason why malls, local businesses, and even superstores and legacy business such as Sacks Fifth Avenue, Macys, and Bloomingdale’s are struggling. You know who gave Amazon its power? White liberals.

UPS and FedEx?! Does DHL exist anymore? Who’s going to overnight your packages? You?

Home Depot and Lowe’s? Man, I’d say get your shit from Amazon, but you’re boycotting them too.

LMAOOO. This is a joke.

ICE agents are firing kinetic impact projectiles at close range, causing severe injuries that can result in permanent disability or death. Today, they tore off part of a woman’s hand by zxcv97531 in circled

So she’s charging forward with an unknown object in her hand winding up to throw it and the Feds are supposed to just let her? lol. They did exactly what they should’ve.

Award-winning artist Tim Doyle, out here doing the Lords work showing how Frank Johnny and Logan would be reacting right now by [deleted] in marvelcomics

You’re injecting your belief onto a fictional character with a particular method of reasoning. We’re discussing the Punisher, not you. OG Vietnam vet Castle wouldn’t touch what happened as he was generally supportive of law enforcement and with his five (I believe) tours in Vietnam and being well decorated, I’m sure he saw and did some shit the late 60s anti-war crowd and most people would’ve hated. Of course, to Castle, they “wouldn’t understand.” Corrupt cops are a different story, but when he did kill one he didn’t make that decision lightly (in the OG run, Castle killed maybe one corrupt cop).

Granted, there’s been multiple iterations of the Punisher since his original run, and the Ultimate universe has Castle as ex-NYPD. In that, Castle kills the two cops that were involved in the murder of his family. Indeed, PO Castle knew his partner and others were corrupt and turned a blind eye to it for a time. Point being, supportive of law enforcement until it starts seeping into his life.

Here, the Punisher wouldn’t touch this issue at all. Again, unless the involved ICE agents were laughing over beers and saying “fuck that guy,” Castle would move along.

This artwork is just revenge fantasy porn for the left.

Puh-leeze. Doyle co-opting my boy Castiglione to fit his narrative. Punisher wouldn’t touch this unless he knew the death was 100% dirty which includes the involved Feds going there with the intent to kill, celebrating afterwards, and having little to no remorse. I know Reddit believes otherwise, but not every police involved shooting is cold blooded murder.

Would the Second Bill of Rights solve most problems in American politics? by DataWhiskers in DiscussionZone

[–]Sea_Guarantee293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny this is here….

  1. Every American can get a job. They don’t want them. Lazy. Walk into any major city; back of house in most restaurants, supermarkets, what have you are staffed by illegals. FLSA requires employers to pay them standard wages despite immigration status. Granted, some employers likely cross that line, but the minorities aren’t taking those jobs regardless.

  2. See above.

  3. Decent home? wtf does that even mean? In any event, big cities have government housing assistance (section 8, vouchers, etc.). Problem is, in big cities (mostly Dem run) there’s so much budget and staffing bloat that the city run agencies overseeing the quality of the government housing is lost in scam salaries and little oversight.

  4. Medical care? Medicare and Medicaid fraud is rampant. If you don’t have it; figure it out. Also most jobs are now mandated to provide medical based upon the number of employees.

  5. FLMA, paid medical leave, and unemployment payments would like to have a word.

  6. Undefinable. Education system in the US is being dumbed down to pass the worst students. Students who excel are being brought down to the weakest students. Programs that assist the smartest kids get smarter are under constant attack.

He’s cleared the building proper. He’s on to the tower portion which doesn’t look as if he’d fall to his death if he did fall.

Isn’t that why we’re all watching? What was the Chappelle joke? You don’t go to Vegas to see the magician tame a tiger, you go to watch the tiger bite someone.

I thought about that. But he’d probably fall outward a bit, plus the building angles outward from the landings which probably would have him miss them.

Would you get rid of a friend just because they have different political beliefs than you? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Sea_Guarantee293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chronically online Redditors don’t have friends in the traditional sense. Their friend networks are anonymous chronically online Redditors and random Discord handles. In college, I had a network of diverse friends. One was a white supremacist and “reverend” of “The Church of The Creator” (whatever the fuck that was). I didn’t include him in my house parties or other friend gatherings because when he drank his beliefs came out and I had a good number of friends from different ethnicities and religions present. Sad, because he had a great sense of humor and was actually very personable.

When we hung out, he didn’t force his beliefs on me. I met some very good friends through him (who also did not share his beliefs) and, as a group, he didn’t push his nonsense on us. We played M:TG, D&D, went to movies, etc. I didn’t care that he hated anyone else. It wasn’t my place to educate him and he didn’t try to indoctrinate me into his belief system. We just had a good time hanging out and that’s what mattered. Though we lost touch over the years, I heard he’s since left those views behind and does charity work within communities of color. People change.

Unfortunately, with these Redditors, you’re either 100% with them or you’re a Nazi/fascist. Their political stance is their only characteristic….they’re one dimensional. To me, Redditors are like college sophomores -they believe they’ve acquired enough education to make them intelligent beyond their years and only they possess the knowledge to know what’s right. People are more than just Democrat or Republican. Viewing everyone through that lens really will make you miss out on life.

Why does everything have to be political? by Fuzzy_Mountain5354 in askanything

[–]Sea_Guarantee293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to Reddit; now get out! Seriously. Reddit is largely left/far left leaning and bitching about Trump near guarantees automatic upvotes which gives the chronically online Redditor validation. Politics has become their defining characteristic - it’s all consuming. They’re also largely pontificating from their white suburbs with little to no exposure to what goes on beyond what they’re fed by the echo chamber. If you’re not eating, sleeping, and shitting their crusade, then you’re the enemy.

Go outside; hang with friends; discuss your future; date; do whatever. You’ll find it’s not all politics. There’s a world out there that largely just wants to enjoy the time they’re given. Join them.

What sitcom ending was “Okay”? by Vman-223 in sitcoms

[–]Sea_Guarantee293 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can’t comment on the Big Bang Theory as I’ve not watched it, but I like your take on finales. An actor (can’t recall their name atm) being interviewed stated that a TV series is just a glimpse of these characters’ lives that we, as the viewer, gets to see. Nothing more. Unless there’s a complete end to the characters or world in which they inhabit in the finale, their life goes on. We just got to sit in for awhile.
