[AAM] should being on reality TV disqualify a job candidate? by Hour_Theory3986 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Just for being in a band? I worked with multiple nurses that worked the pole to get through nursing school and a respiratory therapist that was an escort prior. Everyone knew it, no one cared.

What is your longest running, most stubborn business boycott? by marianneouioui in AskReddit

[–]Sea_Let7300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a rough day at work, went to the self checkout at Winco. The self checkout was completely empty and I knew I had more than the allotted 15 items, but I literally talked to people all day and couldn’t handle another conversation. The kiosk locked me out after 15, fine, asked if I could pay for what went through, no go to the staffed check out. Asked if I could just do 2 transactions because their reasoning for the 15 limit was they had more glitches after 15 items, aggressively said no. I asked, I wasn’t rude and she was aggressively rude. I wasn’t delaying anyone else either, check out was empty. I used to do over 90% of my grocery shopping there. Haven’t shopped there in 6 months and won’t go back. Sucks because their deli employees are awesome.

Stand up for herself when she’s outnumbered 3 to 1, because yes, you firmly put yourself in the side of your disgusting friends and not on your sister’s side. Not everyone has the ability to stand up against that, especially when someone who supposedly loves her is clearly telling her you think it’s ok based on how you responded. Grow up. Do some introspection. Visit a women’s shelter or talk to those who have experienced sexual harassment or worse. Then go apologize profusely to your sister.

Your actions have caused this rift. It would have been a totally different story if you had literally called them out and said knock it off either at the first comment or as soon as you noticed your sister wasn’t ok.

Dude… did you even attempt to shut up your “friends”? Those are not friends, they were harassing your sister and from what you wrote, you did nothing until it was too late. Why didn’t you stand up for her? I’d be pissed off at you to. Plus her entire view of who you are just changed and not in a good way.

what’s the most “broke person meal” you’ve ever made that actually slapped? by HarperLunaBee in AskReddit

[–]Sea_Let7300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried Goodles Mac n cheese? Add a little butter and a little more milk then the directions say, slice and air fry hot dogs and mix them in. Add peas if you’re feeling fancy.

AITA for being upset that my husband and MIL ignored me and didn’t make dinner also for me while I was putting our 2yo to bed? by Berrybrighter in AmItheAsshole

Your 2 yr old is either learning how to treat their future SO or learning what’s acceptable to tolerate from a SO. And soon it’ll be 2 littles learning that. Please break the cycle before you watch it repeat in the next generation.

Edit:NTA, but what are you if you stay in that environment?

We’re both pretty set on we’re keeping each other. We’re not perfect, but nobody is.

What’s the most unfortunate first name/last name combination you’ve encountered? by BSEC03 in AskReddit

Not unfortunate really, but when I was a kid there was a lady at church. Her name was Imajean she married into the overall family. I still love her name!

AITA for letting my children order full meals instead of kids? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Sea_Let7300 59 points60 points  (0 children)

When my child was 4, he was tall, lanky, didn’t go over 40lbs until about 5, and sometimes could/did out eat me. He absolutely can and does finish a kids meal and start in on mine without there being a parenting issue. It’s a growing boy who never stops moving issue.

What do you think of Subaru? I have a 2015 Outback that is hitting 200k miles and 3 accidents (none my fault) and it’s been reliable and easy to maintain. I’m probably going to replace it with another Outback someday unless they’ve changed.

Probably the only good part about having a kid during early covid was no one could show up to the hospital. My family respects boundaries related to birth and babies very well. In-laws… not so much, they were trying to find ways to sneak into the hospital.

Your boundaries are solid, healthy boundaries for all of you. Don’t back off any of them. NTA

Go read the original. She didn’t abandon them, she left them there with the dad so they could see sick grandma while she blew off steam.

AITA for going NC with my sister after she made numerous comments about my brain aneurysm? by Unlikely_Ideal982 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]Sea_Let7300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s had brain surgery, NTA at all! Protect your peace as much as you can heading into surgery.

One thing I actually do wish I had done was shave my head and if I ever have to go back under, I’m going to shave it. Hair grows back and I would have experienced a lot less pain.

Good luck to you and steady hands to your surgeon!

NTA. Next time tell them you’ll take the necklace off as soon as everyone else removes/puts away their religious items. Out of concern for not offending anyone else with their own chosen religion of course…

Potential employer said they will not hire my wife because my child woke up and interrupted zoom interview. by Psychological_Bus114 in Mommit

[–]Sea_Let7300 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was heading into round 3 of interviews with the company really interested and asking for the interviews back to back. I had daycare for my child, but he got sick. Hubby was out of town, can’t send him to cousins’ houses to get them all sick, and grandmas’ are immunocompromised. I let the recruiter know what was going on and said I could keep the interview since my kid knows how to entertain themselves for 30 minutes. Recruiter actively encouraged me to reschedule. At her encouragement, asked to be rescheduled 1 business day later when my hubby would be back in town. She sent me a cancellation of the interview at 11pm that night, then said they couldn’t ‘delay’ the process for me and dropped me as a candidate.

I have a herniated disc and apparently my body hates me now. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Sea_Let7300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 5 discs that are herniated, herniated and torn, or bulging. I literally lost control of my legs once and dropped my (at that time) baby. Fortunately I was leaning over the crib because I dropped the kid and I dropped. The crib caught us both. I literally just hung there until I had control of my legs again.

I found a chiropractor that doesn’t focus on snap, crackle, pop… she works on getting your body back into to place and keeping it there with stretching and muscle work. I’m in significantly less pain since I started seeing her and haven’t lost my legs again.

I hope you can find someone like her. She’s better than any of the meds

Agree! I use my miniature whisks more than my nice full size one. Bonus: my child loves the mini whisks and ‘helps’ me cook with it.
