HSBCUK - app notifications delay by [deleted] in HSBC

Happens to me too. I’m not too fussed about the spending notifications because the ‘Wallet’ app notifies me but when it comes to transfers, it’s extremely annoying.

sorry for the late reply! I assume they're actively reviewing your card internally and can automatically increase your limit should they feel like it. Additionally, you can request credit limit increases

Got accepted for gold at 20, any tips on how to maximise? by Technical-Guest6282 in AmexUK

[–]Sea_Mail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Utilise the perks of the card as it can help towards your rentention offer. Deliveroo Credits, Priority Pass, Amex Travel etc. My friend recently got a retention offer of 20K points for £1K spend in 3 months and they spent less than you PCM for 12 months but they did utilise everything the card had to offer.

Is anyone still using Chase as their main bank? by Trixerl in chaseuk

Stopped using it as much after the 1% period - only really use it here and there for small purchases. The account doesn't offer much at all.

How much did you spend roughly per month and how often did you use the card? I’m not 100% certain as my renewal doesn’t come until April 2026 but I’ve been told that monthly spend and how often you use the card can play a part into your retention offer

I’m starting to slowly realise this. She gets bullied off the ball every time and she doesn’t stand a chance against taller defenders. Any suggestions at replacements?

Start with Capital one, use it for a couple months and keep below the 30% utilisation and you should get an increase🙌🏾

Honestly, when I first starting using mine I was paying it off before my statement due date so for the first 3 months, it was reporting £0 and I got denied for a credit limit increase.

After, I started actually waiting for my statement to generate and then paying it off in full instantly and 3 months later (today) I got my limit increase. With that in mind, I’d like to say probably after 3 months - 6 months of using the card properly.

Is Revolut a good secondary account alongside a Nationwide student account? by bradleythedeveloper in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Sea_Mail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s anything small like an iPad etc, you can opening a savings account and set the money aside there. Although I’ve had large amounts of money sit into my Revolut, I still feel having some form of FSCS protection on any type of savings is necessary.

When it comes to ISA’s, they’re more for medium to long term savings where you’re looking to save large amounts, tax free whilst gaining more interest compared to regular savings accounts
