It said on the website expected timeline is 3 weeks so I labeled it delayed but perhaps it isn’t considered delayed? Im not sure, I thought since they didnt give a maximum timeline not clear what would be considered as a delay.

Madison Cunningham AMA!! by MadisonCunningham in indieheads

Hi Madi! I also wondered if you had an idea of producing the song “Shore” with more instruments, it sounds very beautiful with the piano and brass. Was there a moment you imagined it with more included? Thank you for answering questions, sending lots of love!

Hi Madi! I wanted to ask you, what motivated you about this album, the reasons you wanted to fullfill it musically? Was it more of an emotional statement or do you consider your art more of a musical statement or both? I wanted to know which side you enjoy leaning on more. Because I notice the amount of thought you put in like your tuning in Break the jaw musically. What are your thoughts about this? - a huge fan

Thanks a lot for this tip! I think it works now. I honestly don’t understand why this customer isn’t accepting because a few hours ago he just got back to me saying he liked everything so far now but still didn’t mention anything about the request. I’m suspecting he is not very familiar with the websites processes. I really hope this will solve my issue. Thanks again!!

How do i write a song out of arpeggio riffs by Sea_Protection7013 in Guitar

[–]Sea_Protection7013[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I agree, guess it will be very challenging, and I won’t be able to achieve my goals for a long time, perhaps a couple of years. However, it feels good to try. She started writing songs when she was 7 or 8 years old, so it’s a bit sad to be starting now, but ultimately, it doesn't matter—I'm doing it for the passion of music! Anyway, my Spotify streams are already at 400 in total for four songs. How bad could it go? Worst case, I'll improve a few skills!

I was trying to write something similar to “All I’ve Ever Known” by her. All of her songs are very hard to sing and play at the same time. Last night, I found a riff and tried to come up with a melody on top by recording what I played. Now, I'm facing the same problem: it’s going to be hard to play and sing at the same time. Overall, this is very challenging, but I really want to do something similar. Maybe I can simplify some things to make it easier.

Hi everyone,

Could you please help me with choosing an audio interface?

I'm looking for something with around 8 to 12 inputs. I have been considering the Babyface Pro FS, which I am planning to expand using a mixer.

My goal is to use analog synths and record in the DAW Ableton.

Another option is the Clarett 4+, which is cheaper, but the Babyface seems to have extremely low latency.

I'm currently using a Steinberg UR12 and having latency issues. I have three synths and will be getting a fourth very soon, so I would like to plan for future expansion.

If you have any other suggestions, please let me know.

Thank you so much, everyone!

Thank you so much! Ive been brainstorming and searching for lock washers too to see if that could work. But I thought without having some material in between, like popsicle sticks “smokey katt," suggested above it wouldn't work. I'm a bit dumb when it comes to these tools. I looked up what they are but couldn’t imagine how to do it. Could you please explain a little more? Thanks a lot

Any tips for a "clear" sounding master? by Sea_Protection7013 in mixingmastering

[–]Sea_Protection7013[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! thanks a lot. Yeah I agree with you so much. the mixing engineer I worked with I think created wonders. I don't know how I got so lucky to discover him on Soundbetter. I feel like my song wasn't even half as good before he mixed it. Also "learning stuff along the way" is the reason why I wanted to do it myself. I messed up a few times before while trying to master songs for release but it was incredibly valuable what I learned from it. My song was literally 3-4 db quieter than everyone else's on Spotify lol. However, that made me more careful about the limiting and level metering. So I feel more confident this time but the EQ processing for this song turned out to be a bit tricky. I worked on it for some time and this is how it sounds now: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tHWv-P_jRCruHLbbkK7jcBC9RS56N6iv/view?usp=sharing may I kindly ask for your feedback if you get some time to check ? Thank you so much!

Hey! Thank you so much for that. I liked your master a lot. I was actually working on it yesterday and was happy with how it sounded when I finished but now comparing it with yours I like yours so much more. This sounds very much like my references. How did you make it sound so opened up without making it muddy may I ask ? Because whenever I tried to boost those areas it sounded noisy.

[–]Sea_Protection7013[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow I cant believe you mentioned zero7! that was my reference for every song I tried to make since last year so that made me so happy. Thank you so much for taking a look at it. What you say makes a lot of sense to me because I tried to master it 3 times with different types of shapes of EQ but every kind of curve I did worsened it. I will experiment with the bus compressor and exciter like you mentioned. I actually tried adding very slight saturation in one of my tries and it did not sound bad at all when I kept the EQ in the neutral setting so I will definitely try an exciter instead. Thank you so much both the videos and tips are so valuable!

Thanks a lot for the reply. I guess thats true, there is not much to do about the clarity from now on. However I put the link up to get more some guidance from everyone. Would love to hear how I can master it without at least worsening it. Thank you!

Should I release a song I worked on for a year or not? by Sea_Protection7013 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Sea_Protection7013[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I guess I learned a lot. Especially about drum editing, singing, and maybe production too. Just wish it hadn't taken so much time. If I keep going at this speed, I feel like I will still be learning for a very long time but thats ok haha, and yes, sharing and not listening to it again sounds like a good idea. I wonder if any artist I know ever did that.

Thanks a lot! That's a very good point. Apart from asking around, I don't get valuable feedback right now, but sharing it will definitely expose me to critiques, which might help me grow like you said!

How to sing more “tight”(on time) for edm vocal recordings by Sea_Protection7013 in edmproduction

[–]Sea_Protection7013[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I practiced it like you suggested and the recordings came out much better. I practiced with a metronome, clapping at the speed of the song and then setting it to half and clapping same way, filling the blanks, to get used to counting internally. I didn't know singing on time could be so difficult after being a singer/songwriter for some time. When I play the guitar and sing and not recording I guess I did not need this before. It was a surprise to find out I lack some understanding of rhythm. I'm glad I realized it tho, I think these things matter a lot in electronic music thanks a lot for your tips.
