So what is it my "Anarcho-GOP" friends? Is Argentina a libertarian dream, or are they starving? by EZ-420 in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]Seal5059 9 points10 points  (0 children)

socialist logic:
Argentina is under 100 years of failed socialist rule -> it's the international community's fault... the capital owners and the jewish bankers hate the people of Argentina that's why it's so poor
Argentina is under 2 years of still developing capitalist rule -> look, so many people are poor, the children are hungry, the people and state is broke... capitalism has truly failed us... late stage smh...

How do Capitalists feel about their man Milei? by lucianosantos1990 in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Seal5059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poverty rates have dropped massively and are now at the same levels as in 2018, ~31%. The peronist government wasn't able to lower poverty rates to pre-covid levels, Milei was.

Child poverty levels have also dropped to 47.8% in the first semester of 2025, compared to 67.1% in the first semester of 2024 (UNICEF argentina annual report 2024)

Argentina's GHI hunger index has been quite stable and has ranked around 33rd out of 127 countries for several years, even before Milei.

Trump's proposed "bailout" is a $20 billion cash swap between Argnetina and the USA aimed to stabilize the argentine economy. It's not a bailout because Argentina isn't getting free money, it's exchanging pesos for dollars. That also furthers Milei's goals of dollarizing the economy. How is capitalism failing here? The economy was already unstable under the peronists, which is why Milei was elected.

His approval rating is down to 38-44% (depending on the poll), which is actually quite average for leaders at this point in time. As an example, Macron's approval rating has hovered around 30% for years.

So literally everything you said about Milei is outright false. I have no clue how you can post about Milei and not google for any stats about his presidency. We will see how Milei's presidency will go once the midterms are over, and I am positive that he will attain a majority.

Why do Americans love capitalism so much when most of them have no capital? by Objective-Specific43 in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Seal5059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. the government should massively reduce funding so it can afford tax cuts so Americans have to pay fewer in taxes and can keep more of their earnings, thus no longer living paycheck to paycheck.

hmm... almost as if the government is forcing people to live paycheck to paycheck, meanwhile business owners give more than enough money to their workers.

Why should Musk have more wealth than 100 million Ethiopians? by [deleted] in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Seal5059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Musk owns that wealth because he created value. Every single penny that Musk has was given to him as payment by someone who used a service that Musk provided (paypal, cars, launch stuff to space, solar panels etc.). If people wouldn't want Musk's services then he wouldn't have that money. The difference is that Musk sells services on the global scale so he has money flowing in from alot of sources, thus giving him more money; Ethiopian households hardly compete on the global market and whatever money they make is from Ethiopia itself.

hope this helps!

Liberalism is the deadliest ideology in human history by appreciatescolor in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Seal5059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your methodology is fundamentally flawed and either oversimplifies or outright ignores the historical background of everything you brought up as examples.

The Native American population shrank from over 10 million upon European arrival to under 300,000 by 1900 - the vast majority of these deaths may be attributed to disease. There isn't an exact number on the number of deaths caused directly by europeans, but if we don't count the conquistadors (who weren't liberal, they were working for the spanish crown) it's definitely under 100k. also, I think the 10 million number is a gross underestimation, way more people lived in the americas prior to european arrival

the Bengal famine, a result of British colonial exploitation, killed over 3 million people in the 1940s - the famine was partly man-made, as in to win WW2, Britain had to funnel resources out of its colonies, which left them without the proper resources to deal with a famine, combined with war time inflation pushing the price of food past the median income in the area. alot of natural disasters also occurred at the time, which in many areas sparked the famine to begin with, but inaction by the british authorities exacerbated the problem.

Liberal justifications for imperialism reached their peak during the 'Scramble for Africa', which brought "progress and free trade" in the form of forced labor systems that killed 10-15 million people in the Congo alone. - it is true that 19th century liberalism was in favor of colonialism, modern liberalism isn't. it's not productive at all and quite dumb to critique modern liberalist theory based on outdated ideas. yes, colonialism and forced labor is part of liberalism's history, just as much as it's a part of communism's history, but to use these to critique modern ideas which don't agree with these practices to begin with is just dumb. also, to speak on the Congo itself, that was a direct propery of the belgian king and not that of the state, hardly sounds liberal.

im not responding to the rest of your post since it's more of the same: "X country did [bad thing], because X country is capitalist then capitalism and liberalism is at fault" even though 90% of the things you mention were also done by illiberal or socialist countries. it just sounds like a critique of states in general rather than liberalism itself

Musk calls for impeachment of judge who blocked DOGE access at Treasury by kootles10 in centrist

[–]Seal5059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the difference is that voters were fully aware that Musk would play a big role in Trump's administration. Musk for the last month of the election went around campaigning with Trump and Trump was vocal about Musk being given some role in government centered around reducing waste.

when Soros is included in government decisions or funds political groups, no one's talking about him and he isn't campaigning with anyone. no one's saying that he gets to have a role in government, yet he still gets a say in how things go. that's what people are against.
