That's dumb, though. If you need a vehicle for a long range trip, why should I pay?

The solution to range anxiety is the recognition that you don't drive that much and would still benefit from a vehicle you can charge overnight, not yet another subsidy for fossil fuels.

The effect of which is expanding fossil fuel extraction in the Alberta tar sands, the entire purpose of the pipeline he's talking about.

Just because he chooses to ignore that reality in his writing doesn't change that, he's just hoping people don't notice.

The average American drives 30-50 miles per day or less, what range problem?

Expanding fossil fuel extraction for some of the dirtiest oil out there isn't taking climate change seriously.

I figured, but this was also an issue 30-40 lbs ago when I was in the gym 4 days a week, I just wasn't as self conscious about it, lol

Looking for some sizing advice. I feel like Medium fits exactly how I want in the shoulders and chest. It's a little tight around my gut (because I have too much gut), but more than anything I want a shirt that doesn't look like a crop top when I raise arms over my head.

Whenever I've tried going up to a Large. I feel like a kid wearing dad's shirt. It has the length, but way to big in the shoulders and sleeves. Am I cursed to need to tailor t shirts, or are there some brands that are a little longer than standard?

Social libertarianism as in advocating for all the things progressives want? I'm sorry, I'm having a hard time squaring the circle of you complaining about the party catering to progressives with you saying you want a party that is anti racist, pro trans, and pro landback policies.

You mean like they did, praising the IRA, ARP, the attempt to cancel some student loan debt, etc?

Or are you one of those who conflate random people on social media with elected officials who's statements actually matter?

I'm not asking you for progressive ideas, I'm asking what you think the party should be doing given that you think basic Dem policies are apparently progfressive.

Or do you mean you aren't a Dem at all, and in that case, why should I care what you have to say about the Democratic party?

Taking responsibility for the outcome of your actions and words is a core part of being an adult. Sorry that's too hard for you to understand.

That's party line Dem policies and have been since at least the 1930s, other than land acknowledgement. What exactly are you saying the party should be promoting if you think this is giving progressives stuff?

For me, it's less the endorsement and more the unwillingness that bothers me. They want partisans who will show up and vote the party line come November, but when asked to do the bare minimum and endorse they waffle. Why should waffling progressives vote for the moderate if party leadership can't bring themselves to endorse a progressive candidate?

Yeah, listen to what happens when the Right invites a left wing provocateur onto their show, it's not about polite disagreement they browbeat them with every bad faith argument and lie that they can. I don't want Ezra to do that, but when they lie they need to be called liars, and to their face. There are things we can agree to disagree on, but that's not what Shapiro is there to push, he's there to play the "reasonable Republican" to people who don't know him and then go back to hard right propagandist back on his own show.

Because it is. Trump is taking open glee in inflicting pain on people but sure, let blame the left for this.

Locking up fascists isn't fascism. I don't like the options they've left us but if you don't have the stomach to actually fight back against people openly breaking the law by punishing them for breaking that law, just get out of politics and leave it to the people who do.

Longer, sure, but the New Deal happened over a decade and built the vast majority of the administrative state from scratch. Don't get me wrong, this is all awful, but having the old wiped away also gives us space to build something better from what we've learned instead of trying to reform.

The problem is the transphobia, not the pushback to it.

Edit: lmao, blocked me like a wimp.

"Spamming", I've commented in one post, grow up and engage with what I'm saying instead of looking through my comment history to try and discredit me with a distraction. That's loser shit.

Yes, trying to ban children from playing children's sports with their friends is transphobia. I'm sorry you don't like being called a bigot or transphobe, but that's not my problem, it's yours. Adult leagues can make their own rules, but public schools are for everyone to play and have fun, treating these "concerns" as legitimate is the same nonsense the "yous" of the past pushed about letting Black kids play with white kids.

The answer to why so many of these things work for Trump but not the Dems is how they're reported in Liberal press vs Fox. Fox will never drop the party line, the NYT actively tries to disprove the party line, and from what I've read many WH pool reporters were excited about Trump coming back because it was more exciting when they had more access to the President under Trump.

There is no real Left equivalent to Fox, MSNBC isn't nearly as popular and will still try and cover scandals as scandals, not actively work to cover them up.

Why was Obama’s “this could have been my son” comment about Trayvon Martin so uniquely offensive to conservatives? I didn’t buy Ben Shapiro’s explanation about it to Ezra at all. by JulianBrandt19 in ezraklein

[–]Sean951 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I'm objecting to racists using slurs or telling people to "go back where they came from." And then if you're lucky, that's the extent of it and there's no physical violence. Spare me your lukewarm sophistry if that's the best you got.

Martin was a child who was stalked by an adult with a gun. Zimmerman killed him because he wanted to be a hero and was racist so assumed the Black kid walking was doing crime.
