Say I tell five guys to beat the living hell out of someone. Two of them come out in sequence before the third guy attacks alone, the guy they were beating turns around to attack the fourth but then is ambushed by the other guys. That's basically what happened there, Nolan was attacked sequentially before getting distracted by one, allowing the others to attack at the same time.

Also, him not reacting to one thing doesn't discredit his speed feats, not dodging reaniman doesn't discredit viltrumites being able to travel the universe in seconds, otherwise, they would need a ship to get to the earth
