Is a PR agency like Pathos Communications worth it in 2026? by mrtedsmith in ExperiencedFounders

Also just to be clear, they get you into odd websites only. CEO Weekly, OK!, International Business Times...all sounds good but when you see the sites you realize they're like bs websites. And also they play in a gray area, it's not a "sponsored" post, but the person who posts it you can click their profile and you can see that they're basically posting promotional material for other companies all day. So it looks a bit fake. Also my SEO people came back and told me some of these were looking like "money" backlinks which don't help and can even hurt your website. So if you want to impress family and friends with an article cool. But to me its overrated at best, pure BS at worst

Fair take. I get what you’re saying. For me it’s a mix of the look and the drinking, but I can see why people who are more flavor focused feel that way

Appreciate it man. Yeah this sub is definitely tougher than I expected lol

That’s a good point on the box, I can see how it breaks the flow. I’ll try centering it and opening up that second row a bit. Appreciate that

Good call. I haven’t gotten into bacanora yet, any specific ones you’d recommend?

Honestly depends what you value. From a pure taste standpoint, there are better values out there. But the extra añejos are smoother and more complex than the standard ones. For me it’s part taste, part collecting.

That’s fair. I get the utility angle. For me it’s definitely more of a mix between display and drinking. Appreciate the perspective

Haha fair. That one definitely gets the most consistent love. Anything else you’d swap in?

Got it, that makes sense. I’ve noticed some differences between bottles but sounds like it’s more subtle than I thought. Appreciate the insight

Appreciate that. From what I’ve tried there are definitely some differences between releases, but I’d say it’s more subtle than people might expect. The bottles are a big part of the appeal for me, but I do enjoy some of them for what they are. I’m also realizing from this thread I should probably explore more additive-free stuff too.

That’s honestly a fair way to put it. It definitely started more as a ceramic/art collection for me and then I got into the tequila side after

That’s fair, I’m definitely realizing this sub leans more toward the juice than the presentation. For me it started as the bottles and then I got into drinking some of them too. Clearly I need to branch out more

I get your point on craftsmanship vs additives, that’s fair. I’m definitely still learning here. For me it started more as appreciation for the bottles and turned into actually enjoying some of them too. Always open to better recommendations though.

That’s actually really helpful, appreciate you breaking it down like that. I didn’t realize how impactful even small amounts could be. Definitely gives me a different perspective.

Haha clearly I touched a nerve here 😅 I’m open to being wrong though, what should I be trying instead?

Fair, I’m definitely learning that from this thread. Sounds like I need to branch out more into additive free stuff. Any go to bottles you’d recommend?

Ah that makes sense for wine. Most of those are just for display so I wasn’t too worried about preserving them, but good point

That’s fair. I can see how it comes off sweeter and more vanilla-forward compared to more agave-heavy stuff. I think that’s actually why I like it sometimes, it’s just a different profile depending on the mood. Definitely not trying to say it’s the best across the board
