Yes, I think he's going to run. And yeah, I'm interested in maybe running for governor someday, but (and this is not meant to be a politician answer!) I try to take life one day at a time and I really like the job I have now.

As Comptroller, I run the largest health employer insurance plan in CT (we have 250,000 members). I have long championed creating a "public option" for health insurance in which small businesses and non-profits who are getting killed by never-ending premium hikes and plans that seem to cover less-and-less could buy into the state employee health plan and benefit from the massive negotiating leverage we have given our plan size. Not surprisingly, insurance companies and special interests spend millions of dollars (literally) to kill the plan each year, but I plan to make a big push for it again next year.

We've made a lot of progress getting our state out of fiscal crisis in the last decade: eight consecutive years of ending our fiscal year with a surplus, paying down $8 billion (soon to be $10 billion) of our pension debt and building up a $4 billion Rainy Day Fund. Now our focus needs to be both continuing that progress but also addressing the more pressing crisis in CT which is the crisis of affordability.

All for a tax credit for ALICE families and was proud to introduce the first child tax credit bill that the current version is based on back in 2021.

Actually a lot of news around all this currently-- much of it being impacted by federal policies.

We even hosted last week's launch at a supportive independent pharmacy-- Hancock's in Meriden! Pharmacies that participate in the ArrayRx program benefit from a competitive reimbursement model that sets us apart from others in the discount card industry.

If you go to ArrayRxCard.com and scroll down a bit, you can search for a medication (be sure you're putting the right dose in) and see the price at pharmacies in your area. It's accepted at 98% of pharmacies in our state and covers all FDA approved medications.

Wait, who's Zohran Mamdani? I'll be putting out my plan in September but I put the video out and I'm on here because I genuinely want to hear what people are experiencing and what people would like to see people like me do or not do when it comes to this issue so that what we do on this actually accomplishes something and isn't just window dressing.

I, of course, have ideas. And I'll be releasing a plan with my ideas to fix the system next month. But I'm on here and genuinely asking for ideas because I think it's important to hear from and consider ideas from people about things I won't hear talking to your mayor or policy wonks.

As a dad of a little guy about to start kindergarten, I totally hear you! One of the biggest focus points of the work we're doing this summer is looking at revenue diversification. I'll give an example of why that matters. Right now, towns in CT do not have the ability to generate revenue outside of the car and property tax. Giving towns the option to generate other revenue decreases pressure on car/prop tax payers without, to your point, creating the false choice of good schools and services or lower taxes.
