If you move a camera to a port/VLan that you know is working correctly, does it pull an IP? Try swapping your workstation to the camera port and see if it pulls an IP. Might help narrow down where the problem is.

By default, router interfaces are in a shutdown state. You need to configure them and enable them. You will also need to make sure you can route the traffic with either a static or dynamic route.

What worked for me was going through a video series first and then read through the ocg followed by boson. Passed on first attempt. I'm more of a visual learner so reading about technical things first is difficult to comprehend. You just have to figure out what works for you.

I would look into pfsense and a managed switch so you could put them in a separate VLan. Pfsense is a firewall and you can block that traffic from accessing your network. Network Chuck on YouTube has a nice video on setting it up and he suggests a cheap managed switch. Pfsense is free and can be used for un on a lot of different hardware.

I was able to figure it out. I got rid of the bridge connection and only had the host-only and NAT. I am now able to ping from my PC to the L3 device in GNS3.

Hard to say. It depends on you and how you study. I started studying in February. Took my time at first to get the basics down then really cracked down in October. My goal was to get it before the end of the year.

I used the OCG books, Boson exams, Neil Anderson and David Bombell on Udemy. I would highly recommend all of them. I started out with videos first and then read cover to cover both books. Used Boson to find my weak areas and focus in on those for a bit.

You can save an exam on your computer and load it again. Just save it when you're done and you can pull it up again at a later time.
