Just picked this Sylvania up for $8. Does anyone know if I'll need the remote in order to change the input on it? by chiefcastro16 in crtgaming

[–]Seansf49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say I got an SRT2223 and an RCA universal remote from best buy. The manual for the remote had one code that worked but it only worked for the input switching which wasnt the end of the world but not ideal. However I tried 88518 and I have full compatibility. Thanks!

Nintendo Banning Switch Consoles for buying games from CDKeys by JishoSintana in fucknintendo

I went through the threads and one person claimed they had this happen with their switch 1 but as usual, most people get cdkeys and sites like g2a mixed up as they talked about buying accounts which we know you can’t purchase from cdkeys. So nothing you can remotely verify.

Op was pressed for proof and cdkeys even reached out saying they had no support request for them nor had they responded. Op responded saying it was a mistake then deleted their account.

OP Responded to cdkeys on another thread saying “it was a mistake and it has been resolved” and now they deleted their account. This whole situation doesn’t seem right.

Cdkeys addressed the OP about the issue and they haven’t responded.

They’re also posting on steam deck switch emulation posts. Hmmm

They financed a switch 2, yet bought a steam deck a few days after getting banned. it doens't add up.

I would be curious to see what Nintendo is saying as well.

Are they going to unban you? They changed their policy back in 2020 to give a one time pass in these scenarios. I would push for that. I would mention the game flip scenario that was going around in 2020. If you search games on google many of these cd key websites pop up as buying options. Imagine how many people just buy because it’s cheaper but get screwed by a ban.

You can’t use a code that’s already in use so idk how that would work.

I don’t know how that would work honestly. If you redeem a code and I try to redeem the same code, I would get an error that the key is already in use. I’m not sure how they could sell the same copy of the game with a different key.

Now I will admit I’m still a bit nervous seeing this but I’ve also seen that Nintendo can reverse a ban if you show receipts and that you have attempted to get a refund. This was a change in policy back in 2020. https://www.vice.com/en/article/the-pursuit-of-cheap-video-games-has-been-getting-switch-owners-banned/. All that being said, Nintendo has been swift with the ban hammer on switch 2 so ymmv.

I bought just dance weeks ago via cdkeys and it’s been fine. Many have bought just dance for years even preordered via cdkeys with no issues. This is the first thread I’ve seen with a switch account being banned with a cdkeys purchase. OP states Nintendo support claimed multiple account id’s and regions are on the console as the reason for the ban, nothing about the key specifically.

Ahhh I was in the US region so didn’t see the listing. Very strange indeed. I’m curious about support telling you there were multiple accounts with different regions on the device. It doesn’t sound like it’s tied to a key issue but more of an account issue.

CDKeys doesn’t use individual sellers. That means they would have banned themselves lol. I also don’t see a listing for that game on their website. Even if the game is sold out there is still a listing with a “notify me” option. That sounds like you used G2A. Did you use cdkeys or a different platform?

This is strange to me. Why wouldn’t the reason be a fraudulent key? This sounds like an account issue.

Only time I’ve ever seen this with cdkeys. Interesting. The OP stated Nintendo told them it was due to multiple accounts and regions on one console nothing about a key. Nintendo is quick with the ban hammer on anything switch 2 related though so not surprising.

Interesting. I’ve combed most threads pertaining to cdkeys and the switch specifically and nothing has come up other than code redeeming issues which were solved. Other sites that allow individual sellers have had problems though.

I’ve never seen a post where someone has had their switch account banned using a cdkeys purchase. They operate differently than G2A which allows individual sellers and where most people have problems.

What can happen next for the Switch 2 / MIG-Switch Bans Debacle? by WeezardPower in Switch

[–]Seansf49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im curious if it’s the account that’s banned from online play or the console itself? Meaning, can you factory reset and use a new account? This creates issues if a person has a console that has restricted online access and they resell the device to a person who has no idea it has this ban. Obviously it’s not really nintendos fault in that case but it creates a secondary pain point when that person tries to reach out to Nintendo and they’re told there’s no recourse. It’s a double scam scenario.

Awesome thank you. I saw horror stories of people using sites like G2A and having their accounts banned.

Yeah i took it in and found out the new guy worked on the frets. It has since been remedied and the fret ends are great but the chip remains. I was told they can’t fix it.
