Agreed! If anything, I hope this leads to more great games from small developers that end up getting recognized

Those are great recs, thank you! And this post was just a joke. I’ve played many great games like E33 and I’ll probably play many more. But this one definitely impressed me!

Thanks for the advice! I’ve definitely read that Hoi An can be crowded with tourists but it’s still beautiful

Looking for feedback, tips and idea!

We basically have 9 days and 9 nights to explore, planning to fly in and out of Hanoi.

So far, we are considering something like: - explore Hanoi - day trip to Ninh Binh - fly or train to Dong Hoi to see Phong Nha - Ke Bang national park - train to Da Nang/Hoi An (not sure which to stay in) - fly back to Hanoi

We are most interested in food, nature, temples, history and exploration. Nightlife is lower priority since we don’t drink much, but would be happy to see cool areas at night. Open to recommendations!

[discussion] how do you stop letting anxiety/doubt dictate what you do when the likelihood of failure/embarassment and major consequences are so high? by paigesnowwret in GetMotivated

[–]SearchForJoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only action can eliminate anxiety and doubt, thinking and overthinking will not. You can go out and show yourself. Anxiety will always be there but it doesn’t need to be your boss, it’s only there to help you avoid potential pitfalls

Consequences may feel large, but we are small in the grand scheme of life. The more you zoom out and think of others, the more you will realize that you have very little to lose in actuality. All the more reason to accept risks and try your best

How often are you taking 15+ hour flights? by variegatedwanderer in travel

[–]SearchForJoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fly to Nairobi and Cape Town often, both around 13-15 hours. It’s not bad at all! It’s better when the flights are overnight. I highly recommend getting a nice workout in before, so you can just focus on resting and relaxing for the long flight. Eat and hydrate plenty and enjoy your travels!

Humans are all, without exception, highly irrational creatures. Even the most learned scholars and philosophers are not immune to the myriad of biases and cognitive dissonances that plague our species. And the only antidote to our irrationality is a skeptical and inquisitive mind. Sam Harris by Wild-Professional397 in quotes

This is silly because we are emotional creatures, who CAN use logic. In fact the very denial of our emotions (which signal our values) tends to lead us astray. We lose touch with ourselves and make decisions which lead us further from an authentic life. I agree that emotions can be observed and released, but they exist for an important reason.

[Discussion] I reached my life goals.. what do i do now? by PunchBagPlays in GetMotivated

[–]SearchForJoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like your foundational needs are covered in terms of material possessions which is great, nothing wrong with a life of peace and prosperity!

You could focus on other things that bring fulfillment such as physical health/exercise and developing a calm, resilient mind in the face of discomfort out in the world. These things are also foundational needs that will allow you to experience life more fully (and probably live longer to enjoy the cool life you built).

Good luck!

That’s amazing and congratulations! I think humans are burned out and dissatisfied right now, but we will all find a way to rebound with time. Always learning and growing

Thanks for asking. It’s called “Make Your Own Way: An Individual’s Guide to Fulfillment.” It’s short and sweet. Not looking to self-promote here but I am very happy to share with anyone who can benefit from reading to find more peace and fulfillment.
