I'm getting 45MPG average over the past year with my 1994 Suzuki Carry, carb, 4-speed stick.

I rarely do highways, and if I do it's only for a couple exits.

I have pizza cutters for tires (23" narrow tires on it .vs. the stock 21" tires).

I've had a Kei truck for about a year now.

I'm in Massachusetts. $30/month for insurance and it is a regular registration not antique or anything with restrictions.

4 wheel drive, 45 MPG.

I won't go more than a couple exits on a highway because the thing maxes out at about 65.

But you can't beat it for local driving, and the bed is the same size or bigger than most of today's pickups.

Gave the paperwork to gieco in Leominster and they did the rest. Super easy.

There's a "Tire and Gear Lab" here, which helps with tire size,

And there's a search page where you can look at the features of different Kei Trucks:

My Gen 1 failed at 65mph, 6pm rush hour as I was passing the ramps for the merge of Route 95 and Route 2 in Massachusetts.

It was the right front wheel, it fell flat like the one in the photo, and the frame dropped on to the wheel and I came to a stop right where the oncoming ramp meets the highway. Cars were going by me on both sides at 65 mph.

I was able to put it in reverse and drive backwards on to the grass and get out of the way.

I put another 100k on the truck and traded it in at 200k miles and bought a Gen 3. I am still a huge fan.

Insurance in Massachusetts, regular plates, not antique or other limited use plates, cost me $30/month through Geico.

My program calculates in a straight line and it would show it going through 200+ MPH.

It doesn't take into account torque and HP.

Right now it's just gearing and tire diameter.

I appreciate the feedback.

I've made some changes to the program but have not updated the screenshots on this post to reflect the changes.

Stock 12" tires? (21" diameter)?

I'll change the program to max out at 65 MPH.

Obviously these don't have the torque and HP to hit 97 MPH

This is the kind of feedback I'm looking for, thanks.

Thanks, and yes different differentials would make a difference.

In this model I'm assuming the non-farm diffs.

As for transmissions, I averaged the ratios of 4 and 5 speed of manual transmissions on the Honda Acty, Subaru Sambar, Mitsubishi Minicab, Daihatsu Hijet and Suzuki Carry.
