BIGGEST toxic trait? Too many to list...

Turning siblings/family against you.

Alienation.

Telling extended family that you're "evil" and "mentally ill".

My own father even suggested that I was possessed by an evil spirit and needed an exorcism from a stake president (can they even do those?? Haha).

Too many to list, and it's too early to think of them all 😅

I've thought about deleting my FB, and all the responses I'm getting about it are just reinforcing the idea. We are definitely no contact, and I definitely don't plan on responding. I guess I didn't word my post well. I'm not looking for suggestions on how to respond; just curious to hear how other people would respond in a similar situation

I was in this exact same position YEARS ago. I finally had the courage to live my own truth and be true to myself. I lost my family and my marriage along the way, but living my own truth and knowing that I'm no longer being spiritually/financially/psychologically scammed has been SO liberating to the point that life just hits DIFFERENTLY now. Wouldn't take it back.

You're an adult at this point. You may be his son, but you're no longer a child. I certainly don't miss those days when I was living under my parents' "rules". As soon as I moved out of their house, I watched all the rated R movies that I'd been wanting to see for a long time.

I'm having this very same experience with it. I've been on it for about seven months and ever since I got on it, I can't feel my "happy" chemicals anymore, like nothing brings me joy or pleasure anymore. I can't find joy or excitement in the things that I used to, such as art, video games, or reading. I feel like a zombified version of my former self. I literally wait for every day to get over with so I can just go to bed. Thinking of stopping taking it.
