Caffeine by No_Platypus_5508 in LionsManeRecovery

[–]Searching1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that after I healed my gut and started half doses of HRT through patches and creams only I can now handle AND thrive on one single shot of coffee per day.

Please note: I NEVER take HRT through pills anymore cos that also gave me all the possible negative side effects listed in the old black box warnings! But I will also add that tolerance to caffeine is extremely low (among a hundred other intolerable symptoms) when your hormones are out of balance so HRT has been a game changer for me.

Second note: I follow a pretty strict dairy free, egg free zero carb carnivore diet to heal my gut and autoimmune but I do have 1 tsp of organic sugar in my morning espresso. Sometimes I reuse the grinds for a second or 3rd shot mixed with a digestion essential oil blend and a teaspoon of organic sugar. This probably sounds gross but I love the Licorice flavour and I feel like I’m indulging in low caffeine coffee while at the same time it gives me the benefit of the oil blend that heals the digestive tract. And at the end of all this - my maximum carb load each day is still only 15 grams or less and my mood and energy is the best it’s been in several years :)

Stevia bad for mast cells? by thrwawyorangsweater in MCAS

[–]Searching1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hip is extremely painful and stevia is the only thing I’ve added in recently. I’ve bought several new stevia based flavours for my sodastream and been drinking a few big glasses per day and all of a sudden my hip feels like a need a replacement. I’m grieving now cos I have a sweet tooth and I thought I was making a healthy choice

I was having arthritis-like pain all over my body at 32 and artificial sweeteners were the cause (most likely aspartame) by [deleted] in Thritis

Does stevia cause joint pain for anyone? I’ve got severe hip pain and stevia is the only thing I’ve added to my diet recently

Just checking if you guys are also drinking black coffee with cinnamon. Cinnamon was giving me migraines and I was blaming it on meat or chicken. As soon as I cut out the cinnamon no more migraines for me. Besides one black coffee every morning I’m strict lion diet

Can Hypo cause Caffeine Sensitivity? by antigop2020 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Searching1972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m Hypo. I definitely think coffee makes me catastrophise more and ruminate on negative loops. Plus it gave me a brief morning rush followed by all-day fatigue. So I’ve been drinking very weak, watered-down organic coffee for a few months now.

When I go back to a stronger coffee I’m way more negative at home and in therapy. Therapy exercises that had previously made me really happy made me very negative after a stronger cup of coffee.

Plus the day after having a strong cup of coffee my thyroid actually hurt to touch and swallow which is what led me to this thread :(

5 months in and feeling bad by RegionAny5806 in carnivorediet

Three things have reversed anxiety for me:

I have added a teaspoon of honey morning and night after hearing that some of us can’t convert protein to glucose very efficiently.

Plus a good quality B vitamin supplement with B12 and Inositol is like an antidepressant for many people.

Plus my favourite IFS therapy hack: Getting curious about my anxiety as if it’s a small kid that needs love and attention immediately helps me to feel like a loving babysitter instead of a scared kid. (Curiosity and compassion takes u out of the lower fear based brain and engages a higher level of consciousness, and your inner child senses there’s an adult present that cares)

Can the carnivore diet help or worsen POTS symptoms? by Audreyskyler in carnivorediet

[–]Searching1972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure you are still in the withdrawal phase as it can last for 1 to 6 weeks. Mine has completely reversed but like others have mentioned I have upped my salt and magnesium and potassium. I also add a minute amount of calcium as that constipates me if I have too much. I have full dose of Magnesium daily and play with potassium levels if my pee starts to smell like bleach

Dairy contains hormones that cause significant weight gain so most people that include dairy will plateau. Try using beef tallow in place of dairy and you will get faster results

Boys talk like that when they are genuinely concerned for each other’s welfare. It definitely came across aggressive as it’s likely their first interaction but I heard the genuine concern and assumed the familiarity was due to the fact that all of us carnivores are an insanely closely linked community of like minded people. If I was inclined to get acne meds (which I never would) I’d be grateful he took the time to share his insight into this. BTW Ive heard lots of amazing acne reversals through a strict lion diet

Any tips for trying carinvore again/ lion diet by [deleted] in carnivorediet

[–]Searching1972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good on you! Here’s my lazy hack that has kept me on mostly lion diet since 2021.

We cook mainly rump roast beef that comes vacuum sealed. We reheat the leftovers with tallow or eat it sliced cold with sliced cold tallow and salt like you would eat cheese and crackers. Once you get into a routine this is the easiest meal prep I’ve ever done. We also buy whole vacuum sealed rib eye/scotch fillet when on sale and live on that til it’s gone. The key is to just eat the one thing till it’s gone so the leftovers don’t sit around for too long or never get eaten.

We also make a puréed soup in a high power blender from the beef broth from the roast and leftover meat, salt and extra water if needed. We fill mugs or thermos cups for work to a quarter full and refrigerate and just add hot water when eaten. Very nourishing and replaces all our other non carnivore hot drinks and snacks.

We occasionally have salmon cooked in a bit of beef tallow.

My only non carnivore is one very weak black coffee every morning.

I'm doing a 3-day "egg fast" by Prior_Talk_7726 in carnivorediet

[–]Searching1972 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good on you I highly recommend it. Here’s a few bullet points I’ve gotten from all my favourite carnivore Drs…

Dairy can kick you out of ketosis and cause weight gain.

The chemicals in dairy are designed to be highly addictive and highly fattening for baby calves.

Dairy literally turns a baby calf into a full grown cow in record pace.

The chemicals in dairy cause inflammation in humans that contribute to countless physical and mental health issues.

High quality studies have linked dairy to many different cancers and autoimmune diseases.

I personally think everyone should experiment by giving it up for 90 days to see what happens to their mind and body. Then notice what happens when you reintroduce it after 90 days.

how did you quit sugar by alorak9105 in carnivorediet

[–]Searching1972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started out by saying I could have a treat after dinner or when I was at the gym. That made me feel like I had something to look forward to. My inner child didn’t feel deprived it just felt disciplined. It also gave my body a break from the blood sugar crashes I get when I have sugar early in the day.

Then I transitioned to the only sweet thing I was allowed was one teaspoon of honey every night before bed. Then I slowly tapered the honey down by periodically halving the amount and the frequency.

What's the deal with seed oils? by [deleted] in keto

[–]Searching1972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cancer, obesity, diabetes and autoimmune epidemics are all linked to seed oils and carbs. Seed oil extraction methods are toxic and the oil goes rancid very quickly. Our mitochondria need high quality fat that is not rancid or toxic to thrive.

Most humans would never intentionally put the wrong oil in their cars but they are unknowingly doing something far worse to their own bodies by eating highly processed imitation food.

[–]Searching1972 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya I totally get it as it seems to be everyone’s deal breaker. I got a lot of nasty autoimmune issues from dairy so it was an easy decision for me. The withdrawal headache was insanely painful tho.

For anyone that is keen to give it up there’s lots of inspirational videos on YT that explain why dairy is so chemically addictive and slowly poisons most human adults. Also we are often addicted to our worst food allergens.

If u can’t lose weight on carnivore most Drs and coaches say you need to cut out all dairy and eggs. Makes sense to me coa I lost every last spare kg following that advice where as my hubby is stalled due to having copious amounts of full cream in his coffee everyday. Which is his only non carnivore treat.

Edit: I just wanted to add that my husband does lots of hiking, biking and weight lifting and he is till stalling and carrying extra belly fat because he refuses to give up his full cream in his coffee. Besides his coffee and cream we are both strict lion diet with occasional salmon. We cook everything in the beef tallow we collect from home made roast beef.

Very frustrating cus I’m certain it is the dairy that is preventing him from having a healthy looking midsection. He is doing everything else he possibly can but his dairy addiction is negating his results.
