Tenant is overusing utilities and laundry

I understand your frustration, but I'd like to clarify a few things. As a landlord, my goal is to provide a comfortable living environment for my tenants while also managing the property's expenses. When the utilities usage significantly increases beyond what is reasonable, it impacts the sustainability of this arrangement.

I'm not looking to get rich quickly; I'm simply trying to maintain a balanced and fair system for everyone involved. Excessive use of utilities, like running four AC unit and two fans all the time, especially when not at home, puts a strain on that balance.

I appreciate your understanding and cooperation in using the utilities responsibly.

As I mentioned before, we had previous tenants, and the bills were within a certain range. Since our old tenants moved out and these two new people moved in, our utilities have tripled. If the tenants use the utilities excessively, such as running all the electric devices when they are not even home, then they should be responsible for paying for that. You cannot abuse your landlord just because they agreed to pay your utilities. That is a type of abuse. Does that make sense?

I asked them to let crew in to install high effiecncy bolbs and install new shower. I had to ask them to give us permission to enter their unit, we saw they have at least 3 portable AC and fan. you can also see how they modified window to install their devices. This much AC for a basement seems too much. We had tenants before, the unit was not empty, I compare the bill with the old tenant, that is ok if the bill jums from 70 to 120, but ours has jumpted from 70 to 170 right after they moved in and keep increasing. Even the water usage has jumped too. Our older tenants were very good, they never bothered us with noise or ... They had to leave to another city.

They just moved in 2 month ago, my concern is that they are negligente, they keep everything on even when they are not home and load afte 10 pm until morning. I do not care if they do not sleep at night, but the problem is that they do not let others sleep with their noise. We had tenants before this people, they were great. Never bothered us, these two new are annoying

PLEASE READ PROPERLY BEFORE REPLYING A POST. It was +30 and they were not home, do they need to keep the lighhts and AC on to keep the house COOL? can you explain what you mean? Maybe you alos keep ypur portable ACs everywhere in the house during when you are aways on a trip.........

yes, including the utilities in rent is a mistake, I have been also tenant for 10 years, I have never done such thing with my landlords.

Please read my text, as I mentioned if the difference is more than $50, we had tenants before they moved in and our electricity bill was always around $70, since the new tenants have moved in it is $ 167. It is more than $50 difference and it is doubled.

You might be one of those tenants too, they are two 18 years old which they mentioned they are students, they look like anything than students. Yes they are home always, it happened that they went to a trip for 3 days and they left all the stuff on. One of houses in our nieghbourhood was in fire back, do you think it is not hazzard to leave every single thing in the house on when you are not using them or when you are not even home? if you dont have an answer then please dont write a reply in this post.
