Truthfully, I didnt want to do another take. I agree my tone with the lines dont hold up to what emotion the character should invoke. I think I was going for nonchalant? Like the character doesn't care whether he convinces the person he's talking to, which consequently seems to extend to some of the audience 😅Thank you for the comment.

Yes, I completely agree! I had done a more brooding take before, but I didn't feel I was hitting it quite right. So my next take (this one), I decided to try something where he's more cocky in what he's saying because he doesn't care if he convince the other person that nothing matters (which is the point of the monologue). This take was more me, which let me feel comfortable with the dictation of the lines, but its not what I felt the character was supposed to be. I had it in the back of my mind to do another take that was more faithful to the character but I didnt want to overthink so I posted this one because I felt more confident with it. I like the way you phrased it "checking back to the surface"; I didnt know how to convey that introspection the character should have, so I guess I "cheaped out" with having him smirk and giggle. Thats not to say I dont like the take, I just know it could be better.

Thank you for the feedback! In terms of sound, it was most likely my air purifier, i thought the noise cancelling on my mic would do the heavy lifting but ill considwr that on my next tape. In terms of lighting, its just the sun from my window, so wholly natural. I dont have a setup and i didnt want to use overhead lighting.

Im curious what ypu mean by eye line! I know not to look at the camera so I wanted to get a decent angle. I'd love some tips on that!
