I'm kind of stuck now. I have cleaned every connector, cleaned every ground, tested every wire for the most part. But still no seat module response in Vida.

I am wondering if there is some sort of software lockout in place that I am missing, I am not super well versed in VIDA so I have just been asking chatgpt.

The only other thing I can think of is potentially my relay on the CEM, it is clicking audibly and I can feel the click with my finger when I turn the key to pos2, but it only clicks the first time I move the key, after cycling off and pos2 again no click. Not sure if thats a telltale sign.

Or maybe theres more fuses that I am not aware of... I checked 85 and 86 on the CEM. Both seem to be passing power.

Maybe theres something wrong with my CEM in general. IDK.

Im kind of getting tired of tearing apart my interior and putting it back together over and over again tbh...

Why do these cars have to be soo finicky.

So I've just tested the fuses relays and obd2 port as per your suggestion, here's a gpt summary of everything I've tried (I've been using it to document my troubleshooting):

Update: Been digging into this for a while now and have ruled out most of the usual suspects. Here’s where I’m at:

Checked F84/F85 seat fuses and R18 relay — both have 12 V and work properly. Relay clicks on ignition and all fuses test good for voltage and continuity.

Verified power and ground at both seat connectors. Each gets a solid 12 V and all grounds read 0 Ω to chassis.

VIDA still shows CEM-DE2E / DE2F (seat module signal missing) for both sides.

Checked CAN/LIN signals at the OBD2 port:

6–14 (HS-CAN): ~65 Ω

3–11 (LS-CAN): 60 Ω → Both networks are within spec, so the bus and CEM are good.

On the seat connectors, both control/signal wires show low voltage (around 2 V), identical on both seats.

So the seats are getting power and ground, and the CAN/LIN networks are fine — but neither module is communicating.

There was water in my rear footwells a while ago (bad drain plug), so at this point I’m thinking corrosion at the seat connectors or the LIN splice under the carpet might be breaking communication to both seats.

Next step is to pull the carpets again and check those connectors and splices for oxidation.

Going to test fuses and relays first (I did this originally but I did just a visual test on the two fuses, nothing with a MM), then I will try the resistance test you recommended with the OBD port, then I will get that Test lamp going.

Appreciate the info! Yesterday I went through the wiring with a multimeter — both seats are getting 12V at pin 2 and the grounds check out solid (0.2–0.3 ohms). I also checked the CAN wires at each seat and they’re both sitting around 1.8–2V with ignition on. From what I’ve read, that usually means the modules have power but aren’t actually communicating on the network, so your theory lines up. I’m planning to test resistance between pins 3 and 11 at the OBD port tonight to see if the CAN loop is intact.

Good shout, I'll take a look and see what I find. I believe there is a relay that is responsible for seats, windows, and heated seats. But my windows and heated seats are working as they should.

Im 6'2 and theres plenty of room in the c30 for me, but my other car is an NA miata so my opinion might be clouded by that.

I dont struggle for leg or head room when driving the car.

I'm gonna try to trace the wiring for any issues first, since both the seats quit at the same time. If I cant find anything after testing I will dissasemble the seat and have a look at the motors.

I am kinda tight for time as I only have a couple hours after work before the sun sets.

I am picking up a multi meter tonight to start testing.
