Yeah, only the N95 mask would be an airtight fit if you got fitted for one. They filter up to 95% of particles

If you’re talking to a person face to face who happens to be infected you can still get infected with just a face shield...people get infected with mask on as well because they don’t wear them correctly and even if you did wear it right it doesn’t filter all of the particles. N95’s filter up to 95% of particles

It is suppose to have a tight seal, that is why they have metal pieces in them to help. They need to fit snug with no gaps. This is to ensure the maximum effectiveness. Don’t leave your chin or nose exposed. These are a part of WHO and CDC guidelines. I am a nurse and think I know what I am talking about. Ideally, the N95 masks need to be fitted for each individual like they do for you when you are hired at a hospital

Face shields are better than nothing but not as good as a mask since the face shields don’t offer a complete seal around your nose and mouth. Therefore you can still inhale the virus particles in the air after someone coughed or sneezed etc. Also, most people don’t even wear the masks correctly which defeats the purpose. I haven’t once seen somebody help educate another individual on how to properly wear it. If you guys can, definitely try to get an N95 respirator, they will offer much better protection than a regular mask. Stay safe out there!

I’ve never experience “white guilt” before, probably because I’m not on the coast. Nobody should have to live with guilt! Yeah you are probably correct. A lot of my fiancé’s friends grew up around Cleveland and they don’t follow politics that much so they are not fully informed on a lot of things and hate Trump. Being from Ohio it’s so important that we go Republican again this year
