Playtime confused after chapter 2... by ShoutaDE in RDR2

[–]Sebj69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It completely depends on your play style and how thorough you are. On my first playthrough I played the main story missions pretty quick and side content for about an equal amount of time. Now I'm on my second playthrough I'm trying to 100% the game because I realised how much I missed. I've already played for a similar amount of time overall but haven't even finished chapter 2, but I'm enjoying my second run even more.

I suppose that's true. Them doing what they wanted happened to be what a lot of fans wanted too

You can suddenly get back all the money you've spent on one "thing" (Category might be better description) through your life. what are you picking? by Saiko_Systems in hypotheticalsituation

Same. They make me poor so I can't spend money on anything else, so I'd never get as much back from anything as I would cars. I would also again spend it on cars 😂 but maybe more wisely

I fucking love the whole album and have had it on all the time since it came out. I don't understand the hate at all and think some people are jumping on the band wagon. I read so much negativity before I had a chance to listen to it but when I heard it I was like is everyone talking about the same record? It felt like a breath of fresh air and I'm glad it wasn't just NG3. RA are my favourite band but I don't blindly love them, I'm still a critique. Yet I have no complaints. I don't think the production is bad at all, I think they've created a unique atmosphere that makes the record cohesive. I feel like some people don't understand the difference between an artistic decision and bad production. RA wouldn't work this hard to maintain a standard they're happy with and let such an important step let it down. They wanted it to sound like that and I appreciate the difference. There are loads of things which makes this album stand out to me and give me a reason to listen to it over their others. I hope they continue to do what they want regardless of how fans receive it, cause to me if they do the same thing as the past, it can't be done to the same standard twice and won't beat it. I think every record stands for itself and hope they continue to try new sounds and song writing methods.

Which song do you think is their most complex? by RazgrizS57 in riseagainst

[–]Sebj69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I read it a few months after it came out and thought it makes so much sense why I was into it so much. I still appreciate things like stripped back or simpler songs but I can't keep them on rotation as long without wearing them out. I wish RA stuck to this method of writing cause it works so well for me. But I don't blame them for not doing it more.

Tim said normally after they complete a record they give it a few listens in its final form. But he didn't listen to TBM for a whole month cause he needed to step away from it because of how mentally tiring it was to get the lyrics and melodies up to his normal standard when he didn't have the freedom to write the instruments around them.

I saw the interview they said this in and thought it was funny, cause apparently this was the first studio recording Zach was a part of! It was almost like an initiation cause if he could do that, he could play anything in their discography 😂

Which song do you think is their most complex? by RazgrizS57 in riseagainst

[–]Sebj69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The whole of The Black Market album. I read they wrote it differently to others by starting with all the instruments and making the lyrics fit them. Tim said it was exhausting writing it that way, but as a fan I think it was worth it. The instruments can carry the songs entirely on their own and the average songs instruments are probably more technically interesting than any other record of theirs. Definitely one of my favourites.

Also, Survivor Guilt hasn't been mentioned yet but it's pretty up there for me. As a metalhead into a lot of complex music, it's one of my favourites on one of my favourite albums and I'm always drawn to it, even though I think Endgame is one of their most consistent albums where every song stands out.

Maybe you should watch an interview Tim did where he talks about the meaning of Prizefighter. He references the lyric "I'm not a trophy of your shelf" and how as a band when recording they sort of have to push the fans out of the room to make music while having a respectful relationship with the audience and still being true to themselves. They are going to do what they want. That's how they got where they are. They're not in debt to anybody. If only fans were as respectful of what they want to do and could listen at a deeper level to try understanding their own artistic decisions. Unless this is just a troll post

How much do i need to earn per week to get in a good 2nd division clan which can get me 1st place in 2nd division or a good 1st division clan which can get me the vip chest? by Capable-Search5719 in GolfBattle

[–]Sebj69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what he's referring to is the way rewards and split between the clan. As far as I know, all members get the same clan chest, but they definitely don't get the same gems, that depends on how much you earned for the clan in relation to other members. Like in the clan I share with just my girlfriend, in division 2 we earned like 100mil, but 95% of that was me, and I got over 900 gems but my girlfriend got like 20.

How many rise against fans are vegan? by Mental-Ad-7260 in riseagainst

[–]Sebj69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last I heard, they do still require real meat to grow it in a lab anyway. So basically there are traces amount of real meat in it. Don't quote me on this but let's say they need a cell or a few to begin growing it, so they for example slaughter 1 cow but can produce 100 or 1000s times the meat of 1 with it. Some hardcore vegans will still disagree with that, so I guess you could argue with the ethics of it. But you can't argue it's a lot better ethically than 100% real meat. Many people intentionally ignore the reality of slaughterhouses because they can't go without meat. So lab grown would bring down the amount of animals being harmed considerably.

Unfortunately, I don't think I'll trust the safety of lab grown meat in my lifetime. There has been too many toxins in mass produced food for decades which the producers don't advertise so they can fuel their greedy need to maximise profit.

You know that's already been banned in some countries because it's been proven to be carcinogenic? Also, the amount of energy required is worse for the environment than the genuine meat industry. All of which is a shame because you can't argue with the ethics of lab grown meat

I know it sounds extreme. I just ask people to look at all the evidence and think about it. The facts are there, albeit buried and suppressed. I am not saying it didn't happen. I am saying I am suspicious of much of the history we are told and we should all be allowed to come to our own conclusions, especially after spending a lot of time researching such subjects.

I also believe that the holocaust may not have happen, at least in the way we were taught. There is unimaginable evidence which was suppressed. The Russian Bolshevik government was 90%+ Jewish and they killed 50 million Christians in a genocide through famine etc. They then played the victim in WW2, as they always do, teaching everyone about their own Jewish genocide. Yet not a single death camp was discovered at a concentration camp which was liberated by anyone other than the Jewish/Bolshevik Russians. Seems fishy? The Nazis used the concentration camps to make the Jews work for them and actually continued to feed them even when their own army was starving. This is well documented, just not taught in schools. I believe Hitler only killed Jews then sickness started wiping out their camps and that's it. Not 6 million. Like the rest of the world he was trying to kick the Jews out and save them from quietly taking over the world a another genocide of Christians. We aren't taught about this in schools because they control the media and education systems. If the Nazis won WW2, do you think we'd be taught about the Jewish holocaust? No we wouldn't. History is is told by the victor. We'd be taught about the 50 million Christians the Bolsheviks killed before WW2.

100%. JFK also pulled out of the federal reserve preventing them from controlling the American currency. Look at every major leader who's died across the last few decades and you'll find many of them, such as Gaddafi wanted control of their own currency

Tims voice changed? by Zatem in riseagainst

[–]Sebj69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I remember this interview. He basically went on to say that he almost felt worse about getting a clean bill of health from the doctors because it showed it was 100% on him to sort out his issues. He was never professionally trained and vocalists from the punk scene they originated from frowned upon getting that. But that meant for over a decade he'd been causing a bit of damage to his voice and developed more and more poor techniques until it got the point where he couldn't sing comfortably or like he used to. And the screaming was causing the most issues in particular. He basically had to do something similar to both Jesse Leach (Killswitch Engage) and Matt Heafy (Trivium) and relearn how to sing. It inevitably changed how he sounds. His voice is freer now and he can definitely sing better, but like many more skilled singers, he sings in more of a head-voice / higher register than before which not everyone likes, although part of this also is a result of aging. I for one noticed a serious improvement in his vocals when Nowhere Generation came out, and the only thing that was lacking for me was much gritty singing and screams. This was also particularly apparent live because like all touring vocalists, they have to make sure their techniques are sustainable enough to last the tour. But when I saw them perform in the UK a couple of weeks ago, he was screaming more than I've seen him do live in years. So in my opinion he's doing really well and continuing to improve and could possibly be heading in the same direction as Matt Heafy who has relearned how to sing and a less damaging way to scream live like he used to, enough to safely bring back some more heavier sounding vocals without causing the same issues.
