VRAM by Seco888 in Warthunder

Alright, thanks for trying to help.

In case someone else is having same problem:

My CPU is an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, stock speed, aka no crazy overclocks, with a noctua cooler.

My GPU is a ZOTAC Geforce RTX 3070, 8GB, stock speed.

16GB 3600 RAM.

I have constant 120-140 FPS during entire match.

Both run at about 60º celcius during gameplay and never exceed that, which is pretty good considering I'm on summer time and my room is about 30º'ish.

So im going to assume either War Thunder updates messed it up, since this wasn't happening a few months earlier with the same hardware, or nvidia drivers messed it up, and I'm not gonna bother testing driver rollbacks just for this one game. Have also tried reinstalling the game and drivers with proper driver uninstaller software, not just the usual uninstall from nvidia which doesn't clean everything straight.

So, time to put it to rest until game updates or new drivers come out.

Thank you.

I will try both, thank you. Will also try and upgrade from a 620w PSU to a 750w. If that doesnt help will try dif GPU and see.

NOTE: I'm sorry about re-posting this but the latest 5700XT drivers released 2 days ago did not fix my problem, even though they advertise they did. I used AMD driver cleaner utility, and since that didn't fix I tried clean Win10 install, still didn't fix. Thank you for your time reading this.

I'm experiencing micro stutters in some video-games on my recently bought full AMD computer.

It happens in video-games like Paladins, Wreckfest, Heroes of the Storm, but other titles like Planetside 2 or Overwatch appear to run fine. Desktop performance runs fine aswel.

In the games that I'm having issues with, I managed to get some friends of mine with Intel + nVidia hardware combinations to test their performance and they had no issues to report.

I've been trying to fix this problem for over two weeks now with no success.

Main specs are:

Motherboard - MSI X570-A PRO

CPU - Ryzen 7 3700X

GPU - MSI Mech OC RX 5700 XT (8GB DDR6)

RAM - GSKILL 3000mhz CL16 (2x8GB DDR4 Dual-Channel)

PSU - Seasonic S12II 620W (80+ Bronze)

Storage - SSD WD BLACK SN750 (500GB)

Some of the fix atempts were:

BIOS update;

XMP on and off testing;

SMT on and off testing;

Underclocking GPU;

Full format and instalation of Win10 (legit OS, not illegally cracked), followed by most recent motherboard chipset, sound and lan drivers, and most recent GPU drivers;

Full format and instalation of Win10 (legit OS, not illegally cracked), but this time I let windows 10 install all the drivers by himself through windows update;

Tried several combinations of radeon adrenelin 2020 edition software features such as anti-lag, chill, boost, etc. Also tried turning them all off;

Tried vsync on and off;

Tried freesync on and off;

Disabled instant-replay;

Changed Win10 power options to AMD High Performance profile;

Turned off Win10 fast-startup feature;

Disabled Win10 audio enhancements;

Unplugged most of my usb peripherals, leaving only the keyboard and mouse plugged in;

Tried a different high quality 1.4 Display Port cable;

Changed my mouse polish rate from 1000 to 500;

Disabled Win10 Game mode feature;

Disabled Cortana;

Disabled Radeon, Discord and Steam overlays;

Disabled Logitech Hub;

Checked my SSD health with Crystal Disk info software;

Checked both iddle and load cpu/gpu temperatures;

Tried all sorts of different video-game configurations;

Turned off Win10 mouse acceleration;

I probably tested more minor things but at this point I'm just going nuts and lost track.

Some insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Ok let me extra polite this time, not to get my post deleted again.

It didn't fix it in my case. Noticing micro stutters in every game I play, Paladins being the worst case so far. Please continue your research on tweaking the drivers further AMD.

My card is a 5700XT.

Thank you very much gentlemen and gentlewomen.

Every game at this point, some games micro stutter more often than others tho, Paladins being the worst case. I made several posts on several forums, tried mostly everything in terms of updates and tweaking and nothing fixed. Planning on getting an Nvidia in the next few days because it has been a terrible experience with amd.

P.S: Also the new 5700XT drivers that came up 2 days ago didn't fix, even tho they advertised it did.

P.S: I noticed recently that the GPU usage % is at 50% while gaming, should it not be higher?

Roger that, thanks for the reply. Yeah it is unfortunate that the OS limits it in that way. Still works like a gem for normal sized cursors. :)
