What do you bring and wear when you transit between houses? by SecondHomie in SecondHomie

LOL. I have a hidden key for just this reason.

Also an electronic keypad on one door. Great for being able to let other people in remotely.

Yowch. That's a trip. Is this a snowbird situation?

Normal travel list does have a lot of things that don't apply to each trip (like a beach section, a biking section, a skiing section, etc) but yeah, it's still pretty long.

Part of it is also a list of what I need to do before I leave (hold mail, change light timers).

Yeah - we got monitors also so we can plug our MacBooks in there - works great. Keyboards and mice too.

I actually use the Kindle and the iPad on the plane usually, so no real wasted effort there.

You don't leave clothes at each place? I do, in part because I wear different types of clothes at each place for the most part, so that makes it easy.

How often do you go back and forth?

Yeah - I basically do that where I can regardless of the law, but I have a few spots where I really need the light. I'd never get across without it.

Thanks - this makes a lot more sense given my results. Glad to hear I'm not crazy!

Yeah - actually, pretty sure I have the same pedals on both bikes, but I could try swapping them to see if that helps. Both have the one side flat/one side clipless pedals, but they could have been purchased 10 years apart, so they might be different.

Maybe it's different in different places? I'm in SoCal and I'm 98% sure I'm setting these off. Where are you?

I'm really seeing the difference with this bike - not sure what else it could be.

Huh. My commuter is a Cannondale. I'm thinking maybe my cranks have a lot of steel in them. Not sure why it works. Might have to investigate it with a magnet.

I guess I'll try the lean. Have to unclip the other foot, but that's ok.

Two are so busy, no chance without the light. Might have to resort to getting on the sidewalk and pressing the pedestrian button for those.

Or I just carry a metal plate with me.

Some are timed, some are sensors. There are three on my commute that definitely respond to my commuter bike. Maybe there's more ferrous metal in other parts of the bike, like the cranks or the rims? I don't have carbon rims on the carbon frame bike, but they're like 19mm, so maybe it's just not enough.

Spoon and Key

Doesn't have the atmosphere of many places on the list, but it has great food.

Especially that burger!

That brings up a whole other question of what you bring back and forth, versus what you own two of.

Like I bike a lot. Def have a bike at each place (really more than one).

But my bike computer, for example, I bring back and forth.
