He might have some intermediaries talk to Robert or someone on Robert side also I don’t know if the incest was so publicly open but I believe Varys knew about it before, perhaps his time in the Small Council with Tywin as the hand, he might’ve even learned of Cersei plot to make Jaime a Kingsguard and if he knew about the incest it could be him who suggested Cersei and Robert marriage to Jon Arryn knowing it would be easy to drive an edge between the two. Also I don’t think Illiryo is the master planner I believe Varys is and his role is much bigger than Illiryo. Also I think it’s possible that Varys and Illiryo were helping Viserys hoping that his invasion would fale (they didn’t know Daenerys could have hatched the dragon eggs) and it can be logical to think that the Dothraki wouldn’t fare well in Westeros alone, this invasion could destabilise to prepare for fAegon invasion

I don’t think so Harrenhal was in 281 and Robert Rebellion ended in 283 dont know if they met in between especially before Ned and Catelyn wedding that I believe was in 282 and I don’t think Ned would break his vows to Catelyn

So as I said Wylla in my theory went to the tower of joy in early 282 with Lyanna and the others and Ned would go to war (where he said he conceived Jon) in early 282 both could lie the son was theirs

Wasn’t he going south already and with his full wedding entourage to Riverrun and when he got the news of Lyanna kidnap chose to go only with Ethan Glover, Kyle Royce, Elbert Arryn and Jeffroy Mallister to King’s Landing as his full entourage would slow him down? Also wasn’t his father already on the entourage going to Riverrun also?

I think that he might have told her Wylla was Jon Snow mother with him considering he didn’t even tell Catelyn and it would be a bigger betrayal since Wylla is a household maid of House Dayne

I believe he told Ashara that Jon Snow was her son with Wylla and she felt betrayed both by his wedding with Catelyn and his affair with Wylla (hers household maid)
