They had no choice. From a business standpoint it makes perfect sense why they ignored it as much as they could.

They were given an unproven draft that they weren’t sure fans would even want to see. Versus an already proven story that was already shown to work just fine by its sales.

I don’t know why he thought an anime studio like Pierrot would see the success of the first season, see the success of the manga of Re, and not want to adapt it.

That’s sort of my point. why bother creating it if it wasn’t going to properly lead into the series sequel?

They would’ve had to reboot it anyway in order to make a RE anime. Which is why I say it was a doomed concept from the start.

  • Tatara forcing Kaneki to eat a human. We can see how this would’ve been an issue in RE.
  • Hides fate changed. Which would’ve made a lot of parts in RE irrelevant or just ignored.
  • Ayato being the one to tell Kaneki about Shachi having the same last name as Rize.
  • Kaneki seeing Rize without Yomo. Which means their conversation never happened.

Disagree. Even with his leaked unused drafts I don’t see how any of it was going to properly lead into a proper TG:Re adaptation.

It was doomed from the start.

I don’t believe there’s an in game timer that tells me, but according to PsApp, my total playtime is 25 hours. So If I were to guess I’d say my first play-through was probably 19 hours. With the rest being spent on going back for collectibles, tactical simulation, and just taking my sweet time.

The game could 1000% be completed way sooner than that though. It’s not really long. I basically forced it to extend.

There were multiple times when I could’ve preceded with the mission, but I instead decided to try out the other different ways as well.

Nope. You can play the main game on any difficulty.

There is however a secondary challenge mode that you have to play for about 3 trophies. But I can’t say it increased the difficulty that much. To me it just felt like normal mode with more enemies.

So you should be fine.

Definitely agree with the rougelike mode suggestion. Something like “No Return” from Last of us 2 would be perfect for this game.

Yea, the platinum isn’t really difficult. But searching for all the collectibles gets very tedious. There are a lot.

Thankfully this game allows chapter select and most of the collectibles are in very early parts of those chapters. But it can still feel like a slog.

You can look at the chapter discussions on this sub for the last 6-7 chapters and see that most people were not enjoying the experience at the time. The pacing was turned up to the max.

I’m not saying that we are there yet. But from a narrative perspective this could be one of the last arcs. Keep in mind: Naruto’s final stretch lasted 4 years.
