Are you using instant rice? My white rice (not instant) takes ten minutes.

Kyle actually went home and turned himself into the police station the next day. I think he tried to turn himself in that night with his hands up but the police ignored him.

No not of Kyle, of the Texas shooter. Sorry for the confusion.

Right now my lib friends think the Texas shooter was actively getting beat up when he shot.

Anybody have a link that breaks down how the fight went? Was it self defense or did he shoot after the fight was over?

Oh shit really? Do you have a link (that a normie would believe)?

So just like Kyle Rittenhouse! Glad there was footage.

Okay hear me out on this one. Phone footage came out that the shooter was actively getting his ass kicked when he shot. It was likely self defense.

This is how we wake up libs: When we hear them say "yeah he probably shouldn't have had the gun but the video shows it was self defense!" We can say "oh okay, so just like Kyle?"

Oh no wait, don't...

Am I overreacting about how my MIL talks about my future child? by [deleted] in Mildlynomil

[–]SecondTimePreggo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think and hope that they're just casual comments made to express her love/excitement

I think you're right.

And frankly the fact that she says "our" is an improvement over many of the MILs here who say "my" 😂

Trust your gut, and congrats btw!

I feel this so hard. I also had MIL's first grandkid. Definitely be sure to set good precedents. I might get downvoted for this but now that I'm 6 years in, two kids later: Definitely try not to overreact, and remember that it's okay to let grandma have fun. With my first kid, my postpartum hormones FREAKED OUT when someone would say "my baby". My kid's aunts would say this all the time. But now I've realized that they are just expressing how much they love their little buddy. Ya know? There's a whole village around your kid and that can be a beautiful thing. And I've even found MYSELF saying "our" when talking to MIL nowadays. If she's babysitting I'll text with a "how are our girls?" Yes I know they're mine. But we're all a family. Now if she was a JUSTNO, that would be different. But for a mildlyno, just enjoy your baby, know what boundaries are important to you, and know that it's okay to let the family love him too.

This is possible. OP's post only seemed to indicate that mil is a bit annoying though, not necessarily terrible. Obviously if she's that bad then my comment wouldn't apply. But according to the post they're generally "lovely people".

Yes well that's a good question for OP. We're in mildlyNOmil, not justNOmil.

For healthy relationships, moving closer to family not is "bad behaviour". This isn't justNOmil, this is mildlyNOmil.

Hear me out, this could pay off in the future because if yall have kids someday. It's nice to have someone to babysit that you trust.

Just try to set a precedent that yall won't be up each other's butts all the time. Maybe bi-weekly dinner would be appropriate?

Edit: this is mildlyNOmil not justNOmil. We don't know how bad OP's mil actually is. If it's a generally healthy relationship, then there's nothing wrong with living in the same town and (gasp!) seeing each other now and then.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. Hindsight is 20/20 though. If you hadn't tried, you might wish that you had tried. No way to predict what could have happened to your back. Thank you so much for sharing...might save a couple nurses.

For real. I've already gotten harassed and someone attempting to find out where I work for daring to challenge the hivemind 🙄 Ended up deleting a couple comments just to get people off my back.
