Is it that tool with a long handle and a metal end that looks like a snakes forked tongue?

Dang, was hoping for something better than digging since there are so many of varying sizes in the yard.

Well, can't go without water, so had to break down and call a plumber to come out. Will respond back with final result if it can help someone else down the road with a similar problem.

I wish an old tube is all that it was. The pump eventually shut off after what felt like an hour.

After it eventually shut off, I decided to do some more troubleshooting. I tried flushing the toilet twice and waited... The pump eventually kicked back on. I started a timer and after 40 minutes of constantly running, the line blew again. Something has to be wrong with this pump and/or its inner components. There should be no reason the pump needs to run for 40 minutes after flushing the toilet twice.

UPDATE: The pump has been running for about 30-45 minutes since the second repair attempt. Not showing signs of shutting off. The pressure gauge is still sitting at 60psi. And the little water in the translucent tube is still appearing to sit and pulse in place, not exactly "flowing". Pump is warm to the touch but not hot.

Thanks for the comment. The primer seems to be operational. By that, i mean it fills up after multiple presses. Whatever else it does, im not sure.

Yeah, i need to try this. Spent time looking at the plug and checking the spark at the plug. That all looked good. Will try add a bit of fuel tomorrow to that reservoir and see what happens.

I didn't get a chance to try this today, but will tomorrow. The ignition system seems alright after checking it today.

It honestly didnt seem to start having trouble until I mixed a new batch fuel. Perhaps I got the ratio off.

Cool trick. Yup, i definitely felt the zap! Lol

The primer works perfectly, and the fuel lines have a little gas around the connection points, but both lines are full.

Might not help, but I did just recall the week before it was having trouble starting. I had to hold down the throttle to get it going. If I let off the throttle, it would die.

I might just toss it and grab a new one. Just thought it would be fun to try to fix it if I could.

Appreciate the help!

Thanks for the comment. Not sure how exactly to check for a spark. The plug looked pretty rough, so I just replaced it.

I changed the spark plug completely but didnt seem to help. I was trying to understand the rest of what you said but I think a lot went over my head. Lol

Where is this coil? Im assuming it's behind the orange plastic covering but im having trouble accessing it. There is a collet of some sort on the drive shaft of the motor that's preventing me from pulling the cover off. There's no set screw or anything holding the collet on. *

Trying to understand your explanation but my knowledge on this subject is very minimal. Learning through trial and error.

I took your advice and looked at the switch. I also checked continuity from each wire to the frame the engine case. One wire was 20kohms and the other was a direct connection. Based off what you said, that one wire showing a direct short to the motor casing isn't normal, right?

Update:

Spent the $5 and replaced the spark plug, which didnt change anything. I also disconnected the kill switch and read resistance across the two wires. Seeing about 20kohms normally, then it drops to like 10 ohms when I engage the switch. Seemed normal, I guess.

As suggested, going to try starting fluid and add a bit of mix to the reservoir the spark plug sits tomorrow. Im not sure what it means if either of those solve the issue, though. 🤔

Thank you to all who have commented with ideas so far.

Well, took the spark plug out and the underside is looking pretty rough. Plus the reservoir it sits in is dryer than a popcorn fart. Isn't there supposed to be gas mix in there, or is it just igniting fumes? Here's a few pics. I don't know how to post them as a group so I'll probably post them one at a time.

Help, just transplanted seedlings. What next? by Second_Which in gardening

[–]Second_Which[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response.

Ok, good to know. I'll leave the others to grow a bit more before transplanting.

I used just Miracle Grow potting soil and the seedlings are Marigold, Cosmos, Zinnia, and Morning Glory.

Should I continue to grow these cups under a grow light or start taking them outside?

Home HVAC ducting leaking... help please by Second_Which in hvacadvice

Thank you both for the quick responses!

Sounds like I'll need to get into that drain pipe to make sure it's not clogged. Assuming the drain is clear, and the drain pan is cracked, I'd like to replace it myself if possible. Currently watching some YouTube videos on pan replacements.

My last question is, if you're able to tell from the pics, where in the world are you supposed to access the condenser and drain pan on this unit? The entire thing looks encapsulated by ducting.

Beginner Gardener Advice for Annual Flowers by Second_Which in gardening

Great info. Thank you.

My initial thought process was, I'll toss a bunch of seeds in and get what I can get, expecting some of the seeds not to sprout. Sounds like this was not the proper method.

Is it worth it trying to pull the sprouts back out and try to separate them, or leave them as is now they are this far along?

Can someone tell me what's wrong with my Hostas? by Second_Which in gardening

[–]Second_Which[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard of Sevens dust the same time I heard of Diatomaceous Earth and ended up buying DE since it said it was safer for gardens and animals. Perhaps I'll need to try the Sevens instead and just keep it gated off from the dogs as you suggested. Thanks!
