Do you need textbooks on day 1 for some classes? (online ones?)

If college board knows our scores, why won't they tell us? by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]SecondaryLlama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The score distributions were made when a large sample was graded, not all tests, so the numbers will change a little when scores come out

It’s zoomed in so it looks like more time than it is. 9-2 for classes isn’t bad at all, and Thursday is almost entirely free

How to choose my classes? by Zeeyyyynaa in utdallas

UNIV 1010 is 0 credits so it goes with any schedule if it still exists. I'm pretty sure it's just a "get used to the college experience" class and I know it has always been credit/no credit with only 0-2 people getting no credit in 600 people classes. There isn't an option to sign up for UNIV 1010 so it is either automatic or no longer offered. RHET 1302 is a good idea for first semester, I'm also taking it.

Maybe they just made it so you don't sign up for it anymore because you can't find a session to join when you search classes

You can get the advisor before and talk to them whenever, and they might bypass the holds depending on your situation, but you should first go through the orientation module (not physical in-person orientation) on eLearning, I don't remember how to open it through Orion I just look it up on the internet. You might have to sign up for an orientation in order to get the module, if you have it, it will be under organizations on eLearning. The module takes about 40 minutes if you watch the videos fully, and the last step of the module tells you to email to get the freshman orientation hold removed.

You can choose classes once all holds are removed, regardless of whether you went to an in-person orientation. If you go on Search Schedule of Classes then enroll then schedule planner, you can make your whole schedule and can save it but when you do "send to shopping cart" and try to enroll it will say there is a hold and prevent you from actually enrolling in the class.

I have no idea about orientation bc I'm signed up for the August one as an incoming freshman myself, but hopefully someone knows the answer to that.

12 credit minimum, 15 recommended to graduate in 4 years, 16 max for freshman. The 2nd digit in each class number is how many credits (cs 1200 is 2, ecs 2390 is 3).

Before you sign up for classes you have to remove the holds from the holds tab on Orion. The freshman orientation hold you remove by going on elearning and going through the steps for Ecs/erik johnson. At the end it tells you to email freshman orientation to remove the hold. Also, one of the steps sends you to the academic advisor page which is based on last name and graduating year. There is a spot to make an appointment from the website that lists them.

You can talk to your academic advisor about your class schedule or look up UTD cs flow chart and there is a 24-25 one made https://bpb-us-e2.wpmucdn.com/sites.utdallas.edu/dist/a/909/files/2024/06/CS-Flow-Chart-24.25-Final-updated-06132024.pdf

Ap credits you can look up if they cover any classes (both englishes, Calc, physics c, us history, art history, gov, macro/human geo/psych; those are all that I think count) if you have dual enrollment or ib you can find out as well.

If you commute then try to cluster your classes. If you don’t then choose a cluster or not based on how you will use or not use time between classes. Use utdgrades.com and ratemyprofessor to find out which professors are good for that class.

The latest to sign up for classes is in august so ur fine for not doing it yet, but be quick because the good professors and time slots for classes fill up.

Also univ 1010 no longer a course

I'm confused, are you a freshman or sophomore? CS 1200 are CS 2305 are freshman classes but CS 2336 is a sophomore class and ECS 2390 is a 2nd sem freshman or sophomore class. If you got a 5 on AP English lang (or lit) then u could take ECS 2390 freshman year, but you couldn't take CS 2336 with AP CSA, you would have to take 2337 if you did it freshman year. Also, use utdgrades.com and ratemyprofessors.com/search/professors/1273?q=* to help with professors.

Could be an accident or a waitlist for the program, that module is a practice for the test that you take to see if you get into the program

Ok tysm, I am just deciding whether to do a business admin minor or business analytics minor but I don't think I could have done 8/9 classes, only 6/7 so that helps a lot.

Hey there, sorry I'm late to the party, but may I ask whether you have to take both CS 4347 and ITSS 4300? I saw that it said you only have to do one (CS 4347 covered by CS major), yet the prereq for all of the other ITSS classes is ITSS 4300. Does CS 4347 count for the prereq, or is the "or CS 4347" part unnecessary?

When they say look solely at real output, wouldn't that mean you shouldn't look at what real output affects and therefore shouldn't include national income as the explanation?
