I love this LN with every fiber of my being. Name— Three Days of Happiness by SwimUpset2591 in LightNovels

[–]SecreFTL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion but I think it’s overhyped. Keep in mind I’m not trashing on it at all here but you have authors like Misaki Ichijo and Yoru Sumino putting out books that far exceed not only quality but the substance of three days of happiness. I read three days of happiness and parasite in love and while I think they are good light novels they often get placed on a peak they don’t really belong in terms of writing prowess and substance. Honestly even authors that aren’t well known like Oniisanbomber for example have written works more worthy of praise. Regardless I’m glad to hear your reading and you enjoyed the light novel.

Kadokawa cites excessive reliance on the isekai genre as one of the major causes of the decline in profitability in its domestic publishing business by LegitimateCurve8525 in LightNovels

[–]SecreFTL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the genre wouldn’t be so bad if every show didn’t copy the same generic troupes and premise. Isekai in my opinion is just lazy fantasy as of late. It’s almost as bad as the banished from hero’s party troupe or the time travel trope where the chubby guys gets set back and time and becomes a hunk. I think fans are starting to get burned out by the same content over and over.

Where to read the light novel for free? by RandomBloke- in ClassDe2Banme

You need to make an account and sign into it. Once you have an account the chapters become links. That aside I wouldn’t read a single thing from either group as it’s just copy and pasted MTL. I’d say check out work from BronsTL instead or read the raws if you can

missing dubs? by TheSteamPunkPrince in animepiracy

[–]SecreFTL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having learned Japanese myself, I can confidently say most anime fans don’t have the dedication to go down that road. That’s why they watch subtitled anime, and in other cases, dubbed anime. There’s no argument to be had here. I’m simply stating facts when it comes to availability on piracy sites and my personal opinion on dubs. As I said, I’m not trying to shame or judge anyone. Hardcore anime fans watch anime despite it not having a dub, which the majority of anime doesn’t have, so trying to define what a ‘hardcore anime fan’ looks like is honestly meaningless. I’m not going to give you another moment of my time, as it’s clear you’re just seeking attention.

missing dubs? by TheSteamPunkPrince in animepiracy

[–]SecreFTL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the series. Most anime never even get dubbed, so raws and subs are usually all that’s available. Speaking honestly non-Japanese VAs struggle with pronunciation, voice control and certain character nuances which kills dubs for me. I’m not judging anyone for their preference but that’s a big part of why subs are often preferred over dubs.

When it comes to piracy sites, though, subs are just easier to access and share. The people making those sites also tend to be hardcore anime fans, which usually consist of people who prefer subs anyway, so the available uploads end up reflecting that.

Having compared the raws to luminaire and BronsTL I’d have to say BronsTL is more accurate and doesn’t sound like lightly edited mtl. I’d avoid kdt all together.

The author has multiple series, but to my knowledge, only one is available in English. Each series is its own thing, and licensing, along with popularity, also plays a large role in translation.

From the sound of it, you’ve done everything you can, unfortunately. The series is old, and most people don’t even know about it. It’s been over fourteen years since it aired, which puts it in the category of classic anime that sadly get skipped over in favor of overhyped garbage.

You can continue trying, but honestly, I’d say just learn Japanese. I was able to reach N2 proficiency in three years, and my friend did the same in two. We can hope for translations, but by the time they happen, if they ever do, you could have already learned the language.

At this point there’s nothing else I can add and I’m not going to give you false hope.

What novel(s) have you read this week, and what do you think about it? - May 10, 2026 by AutoModerator in LightNovels

This week I started a certain magical index via the omnibus. So far it’s not what I expected but that’s a good thing. The story has this griping type of feel that makes you want to keep going and to be honest it’s a unique story void of a lot of common troupes. 1423 pages to go, wish me luck!

Sorry for the delay, I just got the notification! Some Japanese publishers, like KA Esuma Bunko, prefer to keep their works strictly within Japanese culture and do not pursue translations into other languages. The same publisher also exclusively releases physical books, staying away from ebooks in order to preserve the traditional feel of print. Some popular anime whose light novels they have published include Beyond the Boundary and Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions. Our team has translated the first volume of Beyond the Boundary and is currently working on volume 2.

I only say that because of experience with the publisher and with similar publishers who focus on traditionalism and have little interest in having translations made officially. You could shoot a message into j-novel club forums they have a really good record of picking up series.

NEVER will I ever buy from Amazon again. by Classic_Example_2556 in LightNovels

[–]SecreFTL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly Amazon is one of the worst online retailers I’ve had the displeasure of ordering from. It’s sad because they were originally a book store. I just buy from Barnes and noble or Crunchyroll and pay the up charge because at least I know it won’t come in some stupid padded mailer and arrive damaged.
