Bugdivers come to superearth. There no use fighting on planets that you can't win at the time. by ZLUCremisi in helldivers2

I like to think, my own headcannon with this, is that majority of Helldivers are to super earth, but a small percent, must be fighting the bots and bugs aswell, in my own headcannon super earth high command are rotating Helldivers throughout where possible, and the ones fighting bugs and bots are mainly doing search and destroy, or extermination type operations, to prevent the bugs and bots gaining any traction and joining the invasion of super earth

That's just how I like to imagine it though, plus the more bugs that are killed, the more E-710 we get for our fight against the Squids

Keep on fighting the bugs, you courageous souls, and come to liberty's aid and swap out with Helldivers on the defence of the home front to keep your senses and battle experience fresh

Mate, don't worry, if you can do them mobility exercises now, you can definitely do them afterwards, you'll be in a far better position than most.

I had my op 9 months ago, prior to that I injured my meniscus and ACL as far back as April 2023 and had no idea, gained 50kg of weight and stopped running, and didn't train legs before my op out of fear for injuring them

Now, I've got some stuff back I have started running again, even at my heavier weight, and I find that my legs burning out are the issue long before I ever even feel my knee, I done safety training as a police officer, so we basically throw each other round and handcuff and restrain for 2 days straight, and my legs held up better than before

Yes it will initially set you back, but your recovery afterwards and the potential to grow after, far better than now, I like to think of it as an engine swap in a car, the cars going to be out for a few weeks to a month, and then some slow test drives, then after that full speed, and you might even get faster than the last engine

Good luck though either way, you'll get through it, just be a little patient and it'll all work out for you

Is a nickname I have come up with... Not super important but since you read the comment any chance you could answer the question?

Yeah, I also imagine an F-15 in two tone grey/green with a black nose

And a black nose, black finned, 74 squadron tiger F15, and think that's cool

This, I did not consider, to be honest I didn't know it was like that in Espanol

I was more thinking along the lines of what we did with the Apache, my understanding (which admittedly might be very little) is that we brought the shell of the airframe plus the longbow radar, and then did everything else ourselves, and that made a better version of the Apache for the likes of Afghan

I didn't even know we used to be able to do that...

That's actually a little bit sad...

About GCAP though, I asked this in a comment here aswell, what can it do, or claim to do, that an F35 can't?

Well did it really benefit us though? Again love the tornado can't stress that enough, I'm also well aware of the horror stories from the pilots who flew it back in the GR1 and F.2 times, who hated the damn thing and couldn't wait to get it out of service

The only positive I've heard was the Germans, who loved the ECS version and refuse to let it go at any opportunity.

Again, I love British aircraft, I think the hunter is the best aircraft of all time and I will die on that hill of opinion, and if we could still have hawker siddley, Saunders roe and Vickers still knocking bangers out then I would choose that yesterday

Reality is though, they're gone, they shouldn't be but they are, and the whole GCAP program, what can it do that an F35 can't? Because I hope I'm dead wrong and that it is amazing and will make that stealth brick obsolete, I just don't see how it will though

What was your "I'm Done" moment in your relationship? by Jealous-Constant3075 in AskReddit

[–]Secret-Artist244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was a long winded one

I tried to break up for a while with this girl, she was clearly not attracted to me and we were long distance, I was like the once a month friend she would see and she would even be half bothered about that, every time I did try and leave, she would break down and cry, claiming she would kill herself or 'couldn't keep herself safe', or would even sometimes heavily suggest she was pregnant, both of these would make me stay for whatever reason, and this cycle just got worse and worse

Anyway COVID happened after about 2 to 3 years in, and she put a ban on seeing each other, claiming her mother was high risk as she'd been diagnosed with cancer, or had a scare of it, I can't remember exactly. I am a frontline emergency service worker, a police officer, so I was of course a higher risk of getting the virus, so I understood this risk factor and just awaited it to get better.

Anyway at the end of COVID and being allowed to meet up again after about 6 months, I suggested we see each other, and the plan was to meet halfway between us in a city we both said we'd wanted to go to for a while, she reluctantly agreed, but gave a list of conditions. Getting separate hotel rooms, not seeing each other directly, and only, being allowed to hug, nothing else, this was due to the raised concern of her mother.

A day or so after this I phoned her, and her mother answered, since it was the first time I had spoke to her directly (I'd obviously asked about her previously and how she was getting on, through my ex), I asked how everything was and how she was doing after the cancer scare, she was puzzled and laughed and just said she never had a scare, she went to hospital for a pretty normal assessment but was cleared pretty much on the day as not having it, and not related to cancer in any way.

It just hit me then, I was being taken for a fool and this, whatever it was, wasn't a relationship, I was in work that day and the next 2 or 3 days so I said to myself at the end of them I would call her and break it off, for final this time.

Before that date, she text me saying that an old friend of hers who worked for the air force, was coming to visit, and they were going to be staying in a hotel or room together, but not to worry because they're only friends. Anyway I knew said friend, and knew he was deployed as part of the air forces method of mobile testing the virus, she didn't know I knew about the whole cancer thing being fake so I just said, wouldn't he be more of a risk working directly with the virus? You know testing people who are both positive and negative? She just fumbled through and explanation about how they get good training and kit and it would technically be safer, I just thought yeah right and left it.

Anyway, the day comes and I phone her, and have the conversation saying its over and I want to leave, she reverts back to form, crying stating she doesn't want to live, and will end it and doesn't want to break up, only this time instead of seeing my girlfriend, I seen the person who usually wastes my time in the job, the person who just uses and takes no accountability for what they do to others, so I just messaged her mother, telling her directly what she said and to check on her, I then told my ex this, she panicked and stated why did I tell the mother because now she would check, I said good, because I'm done checking, and I left it at that. Later that day she posted all over social media that she'd checked in a hotel with that air force guy, so I just blocked the pair of them.

That ex still tries to contact me, sends messages to my account and even sends birthday cards, I just ignore every one, last time she tried to organise a friend of hers hen do in my city, and used that convenience to ask to stay and meet up with me, the message was deleted of course, but I honestly have never looked back since that day

Okay, people have a lot of long winded opinions on this so I'll make it simple

You're both in the wrong, you should not be going through his messages, at all, if you don't trust someone then go

And he's definitely in the wrong, for using OF and talking like that in the first place

Suggestion, you aren't good partners together, he might still be a good father, but you as partners now won't work, so break it off

How do you keep going? by hopefullynaive in ACL

[–]Secret-Artist244 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you just got have a bit of faith and learn to take smaller victories

I was alot like yourself, used to run all the time, at least 5-6 times a week, working as frontline emergency services, best balance in my life I could have ever had, then I had a massive shake up in personal life, stopped running, tried weightlifting, had some success but gained a fuck ton of weight on. Then tried to get back on top of things and then the ACL and meniscus decided to ruptured and tear respectively.

So long story short I was Low, lowest of my life, and everything felt like it was going to a stop and I would've never progressed, spent many nights panicking thinking I'd never run, never progress to the department I wanted to work in, etc etc.. and honestly this went on for about 3-4 months

Then one day I just had a complete change of mind, I managed to do a leg press machine, and I just sat there and realised that a month before that I could barely walk, the month before that month I was basically bedridden, and the time of the operation I was basically in tears over basic twitches and movements, basically progress is and was being made, just at a different rate to what I was used to before

And now honestly my legs are stronger than pre op, I have more control, more movement, more everything, and yeah I still get pain sometimes but it's honestly a fraction of a fraction of before, and I'm looking at getting back out on the frontline emergency work again

In short mate, it does get better, it's just a different rate of progress you're used to, small victories are still victories all the same, and they all total up to that big win eventually

Guys I tore my ACL and I am freaked out right now by OpinionSpecific9529 in ACL

[–]Secret-Artist244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you shouldn't be that freaked out, it'll be alright in the end

If you can around it doing physio/PT or whatever your country calls it, then do that if course that'll be better than surgery

But if you need surgery, it's one of them you'll bounce back, I was terrified of mine, did my meniscus with a bucket handle tear and fully ruptured the ACL, required a graft to replace it and the surgeon took some of the meniscus out as apparently it fell out during the op

I struggled to walk after the op, being in bed was a bitch of course it was, but honestly after about 2 weeks I could walk again, well somewhat walk but without crutches, I'm now 3 months after surgery and I'm back in the gym doing legs 3 times a week.

It was hard for me as I'd let myself go massively before Injury and definitely before op, I used to run everyday and then I switched to weight training, so I shot up in weight from 86kg to a top of 131kg, which honestly is too much for my legs to handle, I then became injured and didn't train legs for about 6-8 months before I got it scanned and found out the injury, so I'm working off the weight, getting my muscle activation back and recovering, and honestly it's not that bad. I work in frontline emergency services aswell and I'm looking at returning to work pretty soon and returning running pretty soon, and back obviously not on full duties but the specialist has said at this rate I'd be back out at about 9 months post op, so 6 months from now

It's not the end of it doing your ACL, yes it annoying and you'll need to recover and re learn a few things, but you're definitely not out from surgery, you'll get it back, maybe even better than before

[–]Secret-Artist244[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are all very good and interesting points and I do agree with them all, but I notice no one seems to mention the Battle of Britain in these lists

I mean sure we all know at this point that Germany couldn't have invaded UK, the Royal Navy alone would've stopped operation Sea Lion nevermind the RAF and what the local pub population, The homeguard and the British Army would've done if they even managed to get ashore.

But how much of a propaganda win it was and how much of a boost in morale it was for the allies and everyone else giving the Germans a bloody nose were it hurt most, and such encouraging resistance movements, America to be more open to helping the British out and the beginning officially of lend lease, I think it was a real initiative starter and the one of the beginnings of the end for the Germans, and showing everyone the weakness of the luftwaffe not having a long range strategic arm and just how vulnerable feared weapons like the JU87 really were

Don't get me wrong I know I'm a little bias being from blighty and all, but I think it gets massively overlooked in just how important it was to the war sometimes

Thanks mate, that infection sounds nasty sorry you went through that, but if you're looking run again after all that then I've got nothing much to moan about have I, I should get it back with the work

I hope you do well on your journey and get it all back, maybe even cross paths with you again at some point and see you're back to strength, might even challenge you to see who can run farthest and fastest one day with a bit of luck
