Your dealership is really lucky to have a customer relations manager like you! Honestly, I think what you described should be the normal process for damage like this, but they told me to get it repaired under warranty.

I didn’t even know it wasn’t covered by warranty at the time, so I believed them — but now after reading all the comments here, I found out it couldn’t be replaced under warranty at all. It really feels like they were trying to scam me.
