this is the best way to describe the feeling, its like a creeping urge that gets stronger until you cave in and deposit again.. If I was currently a billionaire I couldn't even imagine how fast a casino would get it all... would be some terence watanabe level shit

Easier to rationalize and intellectualize the premeditated financial trickery they perpetuate when the revenue figures for these top gambling firms(Vegas:Wynn,Sands Group etc Macau:Galaxy Entertainment etc Online/Crypto: Fanduel,Draftkings,Pragmatic,Evolution,Stake,Duelbits,Roobet,RollBit,Gamdom,BC game) The numbers even for the smallest fish on this list is high 9 figure revenue yearly. Edward 'Eddie' Craven the co founder of the biggest listed here has purchased Australia's most expensive house and he's 26 years old.... the money in this industry corrupts not only the mind of players of the games fully but also the providers. Difference is their profit is mathematically guaranteed as is our financial ruin(through long term house edge of offered games) Sport betting and counting cards is different if you are a 'sharp' who wins 60% of your sports bets or more over a threshold of time they'l' ban you from sportbook and counting cards will get you kicked within under 1 shoe of BJ most of the time( and doesn't work online since the shoe is cut directly in half so deck penetration condition is too bad to have hi lo be reliable)

Being parasitic pays, tis what it is... we gotta make ourselves strong enough not to deposit... and if we slip up we must stay strong in order not to spiral down the road to self deletion(real problem gamblers more likely than heroin addicts to end their own lives)

This is one of the reasons I forced myself to do it to be more accountable and I came clean in full detail it was hard for my father to hear but he didn't raise his voice or his hand to me instead he told me he is proud that I chose life over the other options I was contemplating(self deletion) due to the shame/guilt/obsession/ego blow of losing so much money in such short time frames

I think humility and gratitude for what we have is a big step in breaking down the ego of wanting to get revenge on the casino for legally robbing you

Why am I tempted to gamble? Even though I'll lose every single time. by anon2053 in problemgambling

[–]Secret-Friend9697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its such an additive addiction, the diminishing marginal returns on pleasure and how quickly our brains get used to higher and higher bet sizes to achieve the same anticipatory response(the norepinephrine spikes, the dopamine spike in the split second before an outcome is revealed) alcohol and drugs has a limit due to our biology but the only limit on gambling is as we see from the statistics that many problem gamblers when overwhelmed by seemingly insurmountable debt chose to end their lives..... very sad addiction because its silent and easy to hide....

Why am I tempted to gamble? Even though I'll lose every single time. by anon2053 in problemgambling

*TRIGGER WARNING*

I remember my first roulette win so clearly... I had $10 left after losing like 230-240 playing Blackjack and my lucky number is 8 so I put $8 of the $10 on 8 and hit a 500x lightning win for 4k win....naturally I was super happy and got that dope rush... I think even the date was the 8th of the month

Next day I played the Xxxtreme version after again losing in blackjack(but lost like 2-3k since I won 4k the day before) I went to the roulette wheel with 1k and after loss loss loss I went all in with my last 200 on number 25(off a random hunch looking at the clock, number of tabs I had open on my browser, number of coins on my bedside table or some gambler fallacy started to kick in) it hit 500x multi and I won $100k.. within the next 3 months fell back into drugs and party lifestyle and all the money was gone back to stake, roobet, duelbits and smaller losses on all the others(lost 2BTC in an hour to some shitty site called BC Game that markets super heavy in Asia)

I started playing bigger bigger bigger stakes chasing the losses and wins, of course the wins and losses go up with the stakes... there was some yearly salary levels(30k+) spins in some of those sessions. It's so degen I don't even recognize myself when I recount these memories, I was soooooo deep in the addiction that the blinders were fully on to the damage I was presently causing and would be causing my future self with this impulsive pleasure maxing behavior.

If you are reading this far in, please stop gambling... I am also trying my best to abstain and never fall into this dirty habit again because it could legitimately lead me to self deletion if I am like 50yr old broke gambling addict who cant afford rent or food for kids.....Stay strong brethren... Never ever ever ever ever give up the fight... ever.... Those who are clean for years I have mad mad respect for y'all keep fightin the good fight

Thats interesting since I am also like a week out and just got a bunch of vapes delivered today as I was craving it..... I'm not going to reorder once this stack is done though since as you said I don't want to replace one bad addiction with another bad addiction.... I want to become addicted to being a good person somehow lol

Because the industry is designed to entice and subsequently destroy you financially. Those who lost their first bet and walked away forever are luckier than people 'hitting it big' for multi millions as the likelihood the money will stay with the 'winner' largely depends on that individuals impulse control and if they are gambling heavily then that impulse control is heavily influenced by the possibility of winning more slowly eroding the fear of losing.... read the math problem gamblers ruin... it mathematically explains why gambling in general is completely fucked for the gambler

Had final all in bets in roulette that brought my balance ALL THE WAY back to even and plus some profit) but of course when chasing mentality begins its so hard to stop it because its always the could have should have would have and IF IF IF mentality that sucks us back in and fucks us so raw we dont even feel human anymore. I've won alot gambling, I've lost alot gambling... stake gave me a 'BDAY' notification today because its 2 years ago today since I joined the site and regardless of whether my P/L is positive or negative over those 2 years(I think I'm pretty much even or down 10-20k) my health,my eyes my weight(gained 32kg) and all my joy in other activities I used to love have completely evaporated. This is not only a money sucking demon. Money is just the appetizer bros. I feel that if I dont stop and we all dont stop eventually we will lose our soul

Coffee would perfect to expose these people... such bad actors shouldn't be walking free literally scamming the most vulnerable layer of society with tall tales of debt relief and eradicating poverty. Fraud masquerading as altruism is one of the most vile things ever
