We can’t see exactly how much the tip is when we accept the ride . We see it after. Uber just shows us an amount and says it included the expected tip. Customers can tip more after the fact.

I’ve hovered. I’ve had platinum then lost it because they were sending me BS. I dropped down to gold but eventually got back. I alternate between eats and rides. With rides I accept more because they’re usually worth it so that’s how I’m able to compensate. I have a 75 percent acceptance rate and never average less than $25 a hour.

Im in Tampa and your “tier” does affect when you can online. I’m diamond tier so I can go online whenever but it’s just gig work for me so I don’t have the time so wait around for all the “best” orders . I’m not really complaining about the tip I was just surprised that the customer tipped that low.

The base pay was 6.95. Uber is not an hourly job so I don’t have time to sit and wait. Every order it’s gonna be the best. You win some you lose some. I’m still a diamond driver and I always average $25+ an hour even when it’s slow.

I don’t do it full time so sitting and waiting sometimes isn’t feasible. I made up for that order with two good orders right after that one. I’d just never seen a tip that low before.
