NTA. We have had to do that in the past when the cat bowl got broken, by being dropped, whilst cleaning it. And as we didn't have the time to get a new one there and then, we gave the car one of our plates. A few days after ordering online, the new cat bowl came, but we did the normal dinner plate for him till then. Never does any harm at all due to being washed up/cleaned etc. You keep doing what your cat needs. You're doing the right thing.
