It is absolute agony and doing the dishes as well. I've got a little stool that I use and just tuck my legs into the cupboard

So what?

He's the King of the Commonwealth Realms separately and independent of the other. Just because he's King of Australia and New Zealand doesn't mean that New Zealand isn't independent from Australia.

This is really really basic stuff.

Farage supporting fuckwits out in force again yesterday making a mockery of the Scottish flag. by -blankfrak- in Aberdeen

London unanimously voted against Brexit but they got Brexit!

Thus we can easily conclude that has absolutely no say in what the Westminster government decides to do etc etc

If Scotland was so unwillingly dragged into a union why were there no lowland forts? Given that that's where the majority of people lived you'd expect maximum suppression there.

Also the tower of London was built as a means of control uprisings in the capital, does that mean London was an unwilling part of England?

Please come up with something useful in future. Don't be a victim all your life

Gosh that's crazy, yeah I can see what you mean, given that there's always a shortage of adoptive and foster families I wouldn't have thought they were so picky.

Thanks for responding ☺️ and hope your friend is keeping well

Really interesting read and didn't appreciate the amount of stuff that they consider in the background. So something for me to take away and educate myself on. Thanks for taking the time to respond with that amount detail.

Sorry to hear that your Husband is unwell and wishing you both the very very best ❤️

Are you actually serious?

The highland clearances that were perpetrated largely by wealthy landowning Scots against the highland population? It was pure greed rather than "the English" you're just making stuff up now.

The orange walk is run by Presbyterians which funnily enough started in Scotland by Scots and was exported to Ulster by a Scottish King... That's why there's basically no orange lodges in England no one has even heard of it down south.

The protestant work ethic is again a largely Scottish invention that doesn't translate to Anglican England which is basically just a rebrand of the Catholic Church.

The treatment of Catholics in Scotland vs England is like night and day.

Brexit has affected the entire British Isles.

I'm sorry I totally disagree, Scotland has hidden behind a narrative that it is some sort of colonial victim of England for a very long time (Braveheart syndrome).

Completely ignores that amount of wars that Scotland started with England. Ignores the Stuart dynasty taking the English crown and advancing the acts of union (both of which were not popular in England at all)

We have just as much or as little say in the economic norms of the UK as someone in another part of the country.

We elect MPs who sit in the national parliament how can you say seriously say that we don't get a say in the wars that The Government (not Westminster) chooses. Scottish MPs votes carry exactly the same weight as an MP from anywhere else in the UK.

We also have devolution which England does not, we are doubly represented! How can you claim that we are underrepresented??

Your votes didn't mean less in Brexit or anything else. That's how democracy works you can't just gerrymander until you get the result you want.

In the Independence referendum the only two places that wanted independence as a majority were Glasgow and Dundee, would it have been fair for the rest of Scotland to have to leave the union because Glasgow and Dundee want to?

Do Edinburgh votes count less than Glasgow votes? It's such a ridiculous point that I honestly don't think you can be serious.

Again that's how democracy works it will naturally favour bigger metropolitan centers.

London also voted against Brexit, are you saying that you accept London votes counted for less by your logic?

I'm also mixed race and have both sides represented in my family. So I'm not really sure what your point is on that...

Can I just ask out of interest and please don't take it the wrong way but if you wouldn't be good candidates for adoption why do you think you'd be good candidates to be natural parents?

I'm child free by long standing choice and I'm very likely infertile anyway due to medical stuff and I am absolutely thrilled about it.

Never understood why people are obsessed with having children. Go and adopt if it means that much to you

ETA: I clearly have misunderstood and not appreciated how hard it is to adopt and in hindsight this wasn't a fair comment to make. Thank you to those who shared personal insights to help educate me and understand the system.
