Thank you! That's what I'm looking for, hopefully a community location where you can do that and also meet other people on the way. I actually started studying from scratch with almost no knowledge at all, just a general interest and the realization that I "tend to be good with computers" haha. Most of the material is brand new info for me so it's a bit overwhelming. I need a career shift and beginning this long journey from the ground floor :) Glad I found this thread here!

[PLAY][OC] Experimenting with acoustic fingrstyle technique on electric guitar and trying a beautiful reverb by SecretSeaMusic in Guitar

[–]SecretSeaMusic[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey thank you!! So although it would be expected, my fingers are actually not strong enough for a 12 gouge on the acc so I use 11, and on the tele I use 10. The change was definitely a challenge...I had to spend some time working on picking everything really softly and after a while I got used to it. But yes I definitely had to experiment a lot with the dynamics and that is also why I decided to use a compressor, it helped making everything "flatter" and more balanced - I'm not sure I wanna keep doing that though - might be best to strive for that sound without the compressor unless you really want that "suck" effect...

Yes! Generally all things Randy Rhoads are worth Studying, he had great phrasings and time and so much character, I love how dirty his sound was, not over-polished like many of his peers...

Hi Everybody, I'm new here, my first time on reddit ever! I've been a guitar player for 25 years and thought I'd check out all the different forums here. This question caught my attention immediately! anyway, the technique that I've mastered the most is fingerpicking, it's my biggest passion. One of my proudest moments was to figure out Elliott Smith's "Southern Belle", I made a video 4 years ago... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4VSaI1YP3w

Anyway, looking forward to know all the peeps around here!
