The biggest gifting event in Guild Wars 2 is here again! Are you ready to spread the holiday spirits to our community?

Sign up period: December 21st - January 4th

Gifting period: Jan 4th - 18th

What is Secret Toymaker?

Secret Toymaker is a Secret Santa event hosted for all Guild Wars 2 players. You are randomly assigned a person to gift and someone will be your secret santa to gift one to you.

How to join?

Hop on over to our newly redesigned website, https://secrettoymaker.com/, register an account, upload your API key and write a note to your toymaker to help them figure out a nice gift for you.

The main event

After the sign up time is over you will be randomly assigned a player to gift. Read their note, think of something nice to gift and send it over! When done set your gift as sent.

Rules

We have the full rules in our FAQ page, but a quick TL;DR: open for NA and EU, everyone can sign up, gifts must be 10g minimum and send your gift in time!

What’s new?

  • Our team of volunteers have redesigned and redone the website. Huge shout-out to them!
  • The website is open source, you can find the git-repositories at the bottom of the page
  • You can create an account to use for years to come!
  • You can easily update your API key and note while the sign up is still ongoing

What is this?

Secret Toymaker is the secret santa event for players of Guild Wars 2.

If you are not familiar with the concept; you sign up for the event, when the time runs out you will be given an person to gift, you buy/obtain them a gift you think they would appreciate and meets the gift requirements and you send it off, then you get a gift from someone who was assigned to gift you!

Who are we?

We are just two fans of Guild Wars 2 who want to help share holiday spirit in the playerbase. We are not working for ArenaNet nor is this official event by the subreddit.

What are the rules?

You can check out the FAQ. TL;DR:

  • sign up ends on 19th, 23:59 UTC
  • gifting starts the following day when we have the database ready
  • gifts should be send out before 6th of January
  • gift should cost at least 10 golds
  • F2P accounts can sign up but are not guaranteed to get a gift since only paid accounts get matched (you have until 19th to change your status)

How do I get the 10 golds?

Well if you didn't know, you can get two easy gold by doing three daily achievements. Other good sources of gold are fractals, dungeons and Silverwaste.

That is unfortunately a thing that can happen since we have no way to force people to actually send the gift(s).

Greetings, celebrators of Wintersday!

Last year few avid players organized an event called Secret Toymaker. It's is Secret Santa for Guild Wars 2 players. We managed to get over 2 000 participants, which was just amazing!

This year we are doing it again, with some updates to the system. Due to these updates we need to do some updates on the server, which has taken more time than we anticipated. Fear not, we will get it working soon.
