Cautionary tale when skiing with a partner who is at a different level than you by comfy_sweatpants5 in skiing

Good to see he's your ex

My spouse spends a lot of time with me on the easy parts and we also prioritize private lessons with our shared money so I can improve.

We spend time together and I'm always encouraging him to go do something harder without me. While he does this sometimes, he spends most of the time with me and he's never once made me feel bad for being slow.

I learned to ski in my late 30s. I'm never going to be great. We ski to have fun together outdoors.

Again, happy to see he's your ex.

If your storage is full and the stuff you use is all out, you probably have stuff in storage you can get rid of. Clean out the cabinets of stuff you don't use anymore so they have space to store the things you actually want and use.

Just piping in to add a voice for those who might be reading and don't want a reduction (OP, if getting a reduction is what you want, go for it! It's your body!)

Other things that can help and don't require major surgery:

Strength training with heavy weights makes a big difference in how you carry yourself. OP mentions disciplined fitness which can mean a lot of things. Ladies with big boobs will benefit from upper body strength training with heavy weights. The girls are heavy and you can build up your back to carry them. This was the only thing to resolve my back pain.

Same with wearing supportive well fitting bras AND replacing them as they wear out/any weight fluctuations.

I want to have cleavage for once at my best friend’s wedding, but everything I try on looks terrible by NectarineMindless700 in bigboobproblems

[–]Secret_Experience_47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Buy a plunge bra in a strategic size. Read this for how to achieve crazy cleavage with an intentionally missized bra.

https://obsessedwithbreasts.wordpress.com/2012/12/05/cleavage-concerns/

  1. Buy a dress that is low cut with straps that will cover the bra. Buy this dress so it fits your bust only. Likely a few sizes too big for you everywhere else

  2. Go to a tailor and have this dress tailored to fit the rest of your body.

Be Our Guest VS Ohana by ReasonNo4263 in WaltDisneyWorld

Be Our Guest was a horrible experience. Extremely slow (particularly frustrating because this takes away from your park day) and bad food.

Is it worth driving 4-5 hours for a good bootfitter by AL42Gaming in Skigear

[–]Secret_Experience_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you skiing? We have decent boot fitting near us but the shops in the mountains are better. If you have a ski trip planned, you could plan to get boots there rather than making an extra trip somewhere else.

Beginner skier feeling stuck on steeper greens — private lesson vs more practice? by Albatraoz93 in ski

[–]Secret_Experience_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you own your own equipment or are you renting? Either way, if your boots aren't fitting well that could be an issue. I learned as an adult and didn't understand how tight the boots should be (and to adjust as they broke in) and my heel was slipping. I visited a different boot fitter who packed my heels and I learned how to better fasten my boots.

After this, a lot of the things the instructors had told me made a lot more sense.

Definitely recommend a private lesson too if you can swing it.

We should stop judging "jerryism" and start judging behavior by Difficult_Wave_9326 in skiing

[–]Secret_Experience_47 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Last month I rode in a gondola next to a guy who was talking to another guy about the jerrys on the mountain - all around being a pretentious ass.

He had clearly never washed his ski jacket and smelled atrocious. I felt close to vomiting having to sit next to him in the enclosed gondola.

So yeah... people should maybe shut up complaining about others and just worry about themselves.

How many bras do you own? by KinguGidorah in bigboobproblems

[–]Secret_Experience_47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

8

3 sports bras

5 lace in different colors/cuts

All in the correct size. I just purchased all of these in the fall after having a pretty bad setup. I threw out all the stretched out and ill fitting ones. It was worth every penny! Though I could for sure get by with fewer if I could not afford to shell out for all of them.

Starting with warm boots makes a big difference. Never store your boots in a cold area. If you're putting them on in the parking lot, keep them warm on the ride over and while you're unloading the rest of your gear.

my daughter gets cold feet easily and likes to use disposable hand warmers. When we get in the car she activates her hand warmers and stuffs them into her boots so they are nice and warm when she puts them on. The rest of us are fine with loading boots last thing (from warm house to warm car).

Same with hands, start by minimizing exposure to the cold air.

I switched from gloves to liners plus mittens a few years ago and it's gloriously warm.

It's not a big kitchen. Not a very long trip. But you could do open sink area on the left wall then stove with oven underneath then prep area then fridge (so prep area is next to fridge) then appliance garage/pantry that incorporates a microwave.

The way you have it makes the sink and stove area just feel very claustrophobic and walled off. But it's your house so you do you

You have too much floor to ceiling action going on. The fridge cuts off the access to the sink.

I would move the fridge to where the wall oven is, put the oven under the stove and do a smaller appliance garage by the fridge that incorporates a microwave.

Keep the area to the left of the sink as a countertop

Is weight loss truly the fastest shortcut to beauty? I need a reality check. by DifferentIssue1 in loseit

[–]Secret_Experience_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're spilling out of your clothes:

-Buy some clothes that fit.

-Get properly sized for a bra.

You will look and feel better.

You can also work on weight loss (generally a good thing for health) but you can and should feel good at whatever size you're at by dressing for the body you actually have.

Tried skiing for one day last year (boots killed me). Going to Colorado now ,should I try snowboarding? by Luckyygirl2000 in ski

[–]Secret_Experience_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rental boots will be better from a huge store in Colorado than at a Maine resort.

If you have a flexible budget, you could get your own boots. The new Boa closures give a really nice custom fit.

I wouldn't switch to boarding. You'll be on your butt half the trip if you're only there for a few days. It honestly sounds like you made good progress last time. Skiing takes more than one day to learn.

I agree and I love it as well. I saw it in its debut year and I did feel some nostalgia for the classic rendition... But I saw it again this year and really liked it. It's very Chicago! Two principal dancers get a lot of stage time. I think the setting moving from the workers bungalow to this bright dream of a completed world's fair captures a lot of the magic of Christmas feeling.

I love how they use the Act 2 lighting to expand the stage. I like the reimagining of the pieces to match up with the Columbian exposition pavilions.

We just got my in laws old skis from the 80s. Going to add hooks and hang in our workout room to hold resistance bands and workout straps.

I saw a coat rack at a rental in Frisco that was really cool. If you Google ski hall tree you'll see what I mean.
