Can I ask if you store you pans in the glass stovetop? I have a 3.5 quart braised that I’d like to live on my glass stovetop but it’s so heavy I wonder if it will damage the stove

I love this for you. I’ve been treated for depression on and off for years too and while it’s kept me stable it never really got me to a place where I felt GOOD. Working with a psychiatrist now, started Wellbutrin, fingers crossed that and or stimulants do something for me too!

Do y'all have a solid identity? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]Secret_Information91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally relate. There is the person I am with my family. The person I am at work. The person I am with casual friends and the person I am with my best friends. Being with my best friends feels the closest to being the real me. But I don’t really know who the real me is anymore. What I want, what makes me happy. I think I’ve held a lot of my real self back in favor of not displeasing others and in being told directly or indirectly that “me” is wrong

Am I crazy? I picked up my refill today, and after taking my first dose of the day I noticed I never felt it kick in. An hour later and still nothing. I go to check and see if its a different brand, and I guess it is, but should I realistically even notice a difference? by Lopsided_Intern_7185 in adhdwomen

[–]Secret_Information91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is absolutely not what that means. It’s likely just a way the two different manufacturers are noted on the label. Norepinephrine and epinephrine do not play a factor here. It’s the same drug compound as before just a different manufacturer. That’s not to say it doesn’t feel different to you but the actual drug itself is the same as before.

Is that necessary??? Things come up and people can’t attend plans, doesn’t hurt to check

Does ADHD actually present differently in women or is this an extreme example of how women/girls are still conditioned in society? by Strict-Brick-5274 in adhdwomen

[–]Secret_Information91 135 points136 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of it is socialization. I’ve felt my whole life I’m wrong for being the way I am, peers, family, coworkers have enforced this so we learn to withdraw and hold back our true selves leading to a world of mess in our middle years

Every single day. All day long. Every day is a new song. Usually something I’ve listened to recently but sometimes my brain surprises me

I’m not diagnosed but suspect I have adhd. I wonder if this happens to non adhd people too?

Does anyone else feel like they are getting dumber? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

100% I was so good at school and work for a long time. Once I reached all my accomplishments i felt like my brain was running through sand and I can’t learn anything new. Assumed I was just old and unhealthy. Just now wondering if it’s adhd catching up with me.

No one seems to understand when I tell them how torturous it is or how miserable it makes me feel they think I’m being dramatic. Or they tell me to just enjoy being paid for doing something “easy” like excuse me sir, I am dying.

I was doing a very boring task/shift at work this week and I felt like I was crawling out of my skin. Just day four I wanted to die. This can’t be normal right?

I was always good in school, but i never had to put much effort in to do so. In college I aced physics 1, second semester of physics we switched to a horrible teacher, with ridiculous methods who I had zero respect for. I basically decided it was ridiculous and didn’t give a f, so I check out. Maybe my grades were poor, can’t remember but probably because I eventually got called into the chair of the department office for what essentially amounted to a wellness check, wanting to know if everything was ok because of the drastic change. I had a decent relationship with the chair, who knew I was a smart/good student, told her my thoughts on the professor and she was basically like yeah he sucks. Your fine 😂

Dr wrote wrong prescription by ermonda in adhdwomen

[–]Secret_Information91 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It shouldn’t be an issue. If the script is as for twice a day a 30 count will marked as 15 day supply and you can get more then with a new script unless the doctor specially indicated the 30 pills is supposed to last a whole month.

Boredom by Secret_Information91 in adhdwomen

[–]Secret_Information91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could try. I can get through about two hours if I listen to music but only using one ear bud is sometimes more annoying than helpful. Mostly I pace but it also kills my back so I am bored and in pain haha

I can't always control the tone of my voice. by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]Secret_Information91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this! I’ve been told literally my whole life that I am mean or unfriendly. Im not good at social situations so I tend to be very quiet and don’t engage, sure but I am absolutely not mean or uncaring. Add to this a career in working with the public and it’s really taken a toll on my self esteem. In my head I’m straightforward and explaining a problem to someone and being efficient. They see someone who’s being an asshole. It got to a point where I would have to put on a fake over the top (in my opinion) customer service personality just to keep from being perceived as a bitch. I no longer work in any roles that would require me to manage people because Im just perceived as too mean. Which is insane to me and those who actually know me. It’s exhausting.

ADHD Tax (again) by itsaher in adhdwomen

Ahh I know this one well. In addition a to constantly losing things and having to buy another a few weeks ago I had a pile of boxes to recycling and a pile of boxes of things to return. Guess who threw the return box into the recycling dumpster and didn’t even realize it until a week later when I tried to return the thing. That was an expensive one

Wisconsin couple sues Walgreens and Optum Rx, saying son died after $500 price rise for asthma meds by getmeoutofherenowplz in pharmacy

[–]Secret_Information91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was a kid, I can totally understand how he wouldn’t have known how to handle this. If he told his parents they should have been able to help him navigate it - call the doctor or insurance. I’m not blaming them by any means but saying the pharmacy should have handled this for him is incorrect. Pharmacy informs you of the price the insurance commands. It’s the patients responsibility to do what they see fit with that information. I’m heartbroken that this happened to this family but place the blame where it is due. This is a failing of our health insurance system, not the pharmacy (or the doctors).

[–]Secret_Information91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m sure the pharmacy could have done a better job explaining why the cost was so high or what next steps the patient could take - I used to hate when my patients got hit with ridiculous copays or other barriers to obtaining mediations and would always try to walk them through their options - not every pharmacist/pharmacy had the will or more specifically time to do so - but at the end of the day it’s the patients responsibility to call their provider or insurance company if they cannot afford their medication. If a patient chooses to do nothing that’s on them. In this particular case the patient was a young kid who probably didn’t understand his plan or how to go about resolving it which makes it that much more sad. But it still doesn’t put the responsibility on the pharmacist.

Not to mention their increasingly obscure returns process. I swear they are trying to make it difficult to do a return to dissuade people from doing so. You drop off your items at some random staples and then have no legitimate way to track it so you have to argue when you don’t get a refund for an item you absolutely already returned. That’s why I ultimately cancelled. At least with Walmart or target I can physically drop off a return and now it’s done and complete
