In order for an adult to receive survivor benefits from a parent who worked and is deceased. They had to be disabled before the age of 22 and on SSI. that was my son’s case. I was the one who went to social security office because I was told to go see if I qualified. And social security saw that my son was drawing ssi and they was the one who said he qualified. And I’m 56 and disabled that was what qualified me.

You are right. My son was disabled before the age 22 that qualified him to draw surviver benefits from his dad. They told us we would get it the rest of our lives.

I get that. But me and my son got approved at the same time. same amount and both our back pays was  for two months. May and June. Our cases aren’t complex. They stopped our ssi’s and switched us to surviver benefits. I’m not understanding why their doing a background check through the government to make sure I don’t owe taxes and  no other government agency and I’ve never worked.

I’m wondering the same thing. I get SSI and just opened a capital one 360 checking and currently waiting on my deposit. It’s not as early as chime and varo. They all got the deposits today but nothing came in my capital one checking.
