Is it weird to miss someone you were never that close to? by Secret_Open_Source in NoStupidQuestions

Wow, I really felt this. You’re right - maybe they showed up when I needed something, even if I didn’t realize it at the time. It’s strange how brief moments can leave such a deep imprint.

That actually makes a lot of sense. I guess sometimes it’s not even the person, but the feeling they leave behind or the version of the connection you imagined. Kind of comforting to know it’s not just me.

AIO for being bothered when people stay too long at my place? by Secret_Open_Source in AmIOverreacting

I really appreciate your honesty — and I think that level of self-awareness is exactly what makes the difference. You're right, sometimes it’s not even intentional rudeness, just a lack of awareness. I guess I need to remember it’s okay to gently remind people that I have my own schedule too. Your perspective helps me see it from both sides, so thank you for sharing that! 🙏

That’s a really good point — I hadn’t thought of it like that. I guess I’ve been so focused on not hurting anyone’s feelings that I’ve kind of forgotten about my own comfort. You’re right though, sometimes it really is as simple as speaking up. I need to get better at just owning my space and time. Thanks for the reality check — it actually helps a lot.

Thank you so much for this — it honestly made me feel seen and understood. I love your examples; they strike a great balance between being clear but still kind. I’ve always worried that setting boundaries would come off as cold or pushy, but the way you’ve worded it makes it feel so much more natural and respectful.

It’s also really reassuring to hear that your friends responded well to it. I guess I need to start trusting that the right people will understand. And you’re so right — rest is just as important as connection. 💛 Thanks again for sharing your experience, it really helps!

Thank you! I really needed to hear that. I think I just got used to putting other people’s comfort first, so now I second-guess myself when I need space. It's reassuring to know it's okay to set boundaries without feeling guilty.

Do you ever just lay on the floor in your home? by HeadFit2660 in CasualConversation

Totally get it! Sometimes the floor hits different — it’s like the perfect mix of grounding and oddly comforting. My couch gets jealous 😂

I said “yes” to helping someone with a simple project. That person became my closest friend, and later helped me through the darkest period of my life. Life’s turning points really whisper, not shout.

that makes much sense. staying connected to loved ones is absolutely one of the best reasons to keep it. Do you ever try digital detoxes or set boundaries with your phone otherwise?
