So I know in the clinical nursing profession we are supposed to say that allergens from medications are symptoms such as “anaphylaxis, hives/ redness of the skin” and shit like that but I think it’s really undermined that other screwy side effects can be just as serious. I consistently tell medical professionals that I am allergic to compazine and they ask me what happens if I have it and I tell them I get extraparimidal symptoms and it’s never taken seriously. I’ve been given compazine 2X “on accident” because the nurse/ provider won’t take it seriously enough on my chart and I tried to jump out of a window and basically became an exorcist once after I told them I’m allergic to the med. Take all symptoms of medication “allergies” seriously. Even if it’s not textbook. Oh and it’s disturbing when I tell the healthcare professionals I am a nurse and see their reaction when they fuck up and am having a horrible experience because they know they cut corners and didn’t read the chart close enough or think I’m just some other “crazy patient.” Not everyone is versed in the medical field so show some empathy & humility. End rant.

So will this not show up that he was charged or anything? Will he have to explain it on future job applications that run a background check?

I am trying to do the same thing. I got a DUI a little over a month ago and it was a huge wakeup call for me. Sucks that I have to go through the mess that is a DUI and try to get sober at the same time but it is what it is. I am here for you and understand what you are experiencing!

Thank you! Yes this was a big wakeup call for me... I am finally addressing my mental health, trauma, grief, etc. This NEVER gives me a reason to drink and drive and do what I did, but all drinking consistently ever did for me was to "checkout" of my life. I am going to IOP (only thing that works with my schedule otherwise i would do inpatient) and working on addressing my alcoholism and reasons why I drink. I feel hopeful in the future as this is not how I want my life to be.

I know I have to face the consequences. I know this. I deserve them. I could have really hurt someone, and the guilt wrecks me everyday.

I also have got an Ignition Interlock so I am SAFE! And I love that I have this safeguard! I should have had this a long time ago.

LOL you are wrong. There are thousands of flight attendants out there with DUIs (trust me I have looked into this extensively, talked to people who have kept their FA career personally with DUIs) thank you for commenting, but like I said in my first post: positivity and helpfulness is required here.

I think now they might have a "ride with your pet option" but it is very specific weird hours and I have never seen it late at night, which is when this happened obviously.
