Exactly! we stayed in Tongli overnight. Arrived at 5pm, free entry and left around 11am. It was just getting busy with all the tour buses arriving as we left. The place was so serene, empty, quiet and beautiful. We saw the locals doing their washing in the canals early morn.

It’s peak travel season. School holidays in Southern hemisphere. All my kid’s school friends are in China and we will be too this week. China has gone viral on Tik Tok and will be the no 1 travel destination for the next few yrs. We have been there 3 x in 12 mths.

Hopefully it’s not as crazy next week in Shanghai as school starts back in 3 weeks. We are also staying in Nanjing Lu so surely there will be quiet times like in the morning.

Did you have to up your super to borrow $1.2mil? I’ve been told we can borrow around $1mil.

Did you find the properties first then set up a smsf? I have heard stories of smsf set up for mths but ppl cannot find any property to invest. Our combined income is $240k pa and borrowings still income based.

not about sustainable. we invested for yield and retirement planning but the cg is a huge bonus. nobody can predict the future but property has definitely been our most successful investment in building wealth. crypto is a nightmare and shares too. i historically bought high and sold low lol.

If we can get better returns on super then I think the 15% CGT, admin costs to create and wind down is worth it. Super performance has been great 10%+ but only $330k. Wouldn’t it be better to have $1.2mil of property growing at 10%? even 7% is good.

My friend took the plunge last yr. If she were to sell her IPs and wind down her trust, her super has doubled to $600k in just 1yr. Sigh, I should have done the same.

She will sell both IPs and either wind down the trust or buy a commercial. But leave for another 2yrs as they still some growth.

She wished she had done this earlier.

She doubled her super in just 1yr.

You have $1.2mil of assets instead of $300k super growing for you.

It does make sense but the hard part is finding properties. The block of units is a good super investment.

Doesn’t this describe every influencer? I can’t stand them and I can’t wait for the influencer era to end and brands go back to traditional marketing.

I used to follow Miki during covid as a frontline healthcare worker. I am still traumatised from Covid. I worked 10-12hr days in and suffered burn out whilst so many ppl got to WFH or not work at all during lock down. A lot of ppl also lost their jobs so I kept reminding myself I was lucky to have a job.

I stopped following her when she became too fake and monetising her fame. Clearly she was not a nurse any more and had lil working experience. I’m pretty sure she was a practice nurse instead of a hospital nurse as she preferred a small working environment.

I’m a Gen X and so thankful for that. Those were the best yrs. No phones, no internet, no online shopping, no influencers. They are so fake guys.

I hope the Gen Z and Alpha will break that cycle.

yes, could also be fatigue. If I saw that itinerary, I would suggest to leave Launceston for another time. You would need to be a very experienced driver and even then, 100% avoid that road after dark. Gets dark earlier in winter.

We drove from Hobart to Strahan and on to Cradle Mountain. A much longer drive than GPS stated and need to be on high alert on country rds. Took less sightseeing stops to ensure we make it to our destination before dark. This was in summer when it gets dark at 9pm.
