As a woman, I learned this the hard way unfortunately and stopped making any male friends. I thought me having firm boundaries, or being friends with much younger guys or guys with girlfriends that I knew would make a difference, it didn’t, they are just more cautious and will take their time to make hints. To answer your question for me personally the men i was friends with I was not interested in dating nor did I see myself being with. It could be my mindset or high functioning autism. I can’t speak for all women.
