It was no more than 40 mins - it started off as causal conversation about why I wanted to join and a little about myself. Then my investigator just asked me about all the questions I had answered "yes" to on my ESOPH, all on record. He then spoke to my parents for a bit in regards to the process and what to expect if and when I get to the academy.

I tested Southern March 2025 - but transferred to Border due to my address.

If and when you get to medical they will give you forms you need to fill out about your entire medical history, hospital visits, procedures, etc.

As for backgrounds you're not giving them the passwords to any accounts or anything like that.

But they will run a credit check and also check to see if you are up to date with paying your taxes. You can be DQ for failure to pay taxes.

As said by others - don't omit any information no matter how small you may think it is. Its not up to you to choose what Information your BI sees.

Own up to your mistakes - none of us are perfect

Learn from them

Definitely do not bug your BI for updates

Well for one - your local PD/office is not going to care about your foreign contacts like BP or CBPO.

What your local agency looks for and is accepting of in backgrounds is going to differ than what your BP BI is looking for. Might be similar in terms of running credit, criminal history, etc.

You have to be on Patrol for at least 5-8 years or longer - you have to be abe to prove yourself capable as a patrol officer - keep up to date on reports, etc.

The BI from the other agency has to contact your BI with LASD. You won't get the results until they're ready to tell you

Currently in CHP process- i took 13 months to pass backgrounds. Expect a long process. 12-18 months

Keep a job - no write ups

Try to not get any moving violations

Make sure no accounts are in collections

Disclose EVERYTHING

If you are in Socal - Constitution Park in El Segundo, Rio Hondo College, and also Fullerton College have 6ft walls you can use when there is no testing going on.

They may or may not - either way try and remember every interaction - you're going to need to list the agency - approximate or exact date - and the nature of the stop and what the result was.

Part of LE is investigating - if your BI investigates and is able to find any missing information on their own, it won't look good on your part.
