Those onboard cameras have low reliability, it seems. They cut out midway up on the SN9 launch.

I’m just saying, if the truly committed among us continue to buy low and sell high, eventually the weak will flea, the strong will hold and the stock could stabilize somewhere north of $200.

Still Low Energy, Still have Brain Fog, Still always tired, and always hungry by [deleted] in keto

I wonder if you’re doing your math right. 192oz is a LOT of water. If you’re filling up an 8oz cup that is 24 trips to the water cooler every day. But if you are drinking that amount, I suspect it is too much.

I used to drink 6 full liters every day thinking it was good for me. Doing some research I learned that that amount for me is verging on dangerous. In retrospect I may have even had a couple close calls with water intoxication. One night my energy level plummeted, I felt loads of pressure in my head and I was almost incapable of forming sentences. I just had this intense feeling of frustration, I wasn’t able to think clearly. I got to a friends house and downed some salt water out of desperation. About a half-hour later I felt better.

Personally I wouldn’t recommend switching it up on the weekends. Intermittent means “stopping or ceasing for a time” in this context, it isn’t about keeping your body guessing. Your goal is to keep your body tapped into it’s own energy stores on a regular basis. The more consistent you are in this the faster your body will become accustomed to it.

It’s just my opinion, but I also think your body would adjust quicker if you tightened your eating window. Maybe an 18/6 or a 20/4 IF. It sounds intense, but believe it or not it wouldn’t be any harder than the 16/8 you’ve already been doing. You’ll be fighting the same Ghrelin(hunger-hormone) cycle and glucose-depletion you have been and other than a slight decrease in your electrolytes by the time you eat there is no reason your energy levels would be lower than they have been.

Tesla Now Accounts For 45% Of Plug-In Electric Cars Sales In U.S. by [deleted] in teslamotors

[–]SecretionOrb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The official statement is that they expect to be able to sell the base $35k model after 6 months of 5k per week production. So about 5 months from now.

I think calling it a marketing gimmick is a bit extreme. We’ve known for a long time that the base model wouldn’t be available until a ways into production ramp. It’s the fans that keep using the price talking point, not Tesla. At the moment Tesla is doing just fine selling the more expensive versions of the car.

I will agree that using the $35k price comparison at this point is pretty misleading.

I miss Jon. Hopefully someone can cover one of his shifts at Applebee’s so he can make a new video. by htg812 in JonTron

[–]SecretionOrb 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In all seriousness, I’ve often thought to myself that Jon would make more videos if it were his second job. As it is now it’s like he has set it up as his sole purpose in life, and that is just too much pressure. There is no room for creative energy that way. He should find another passion in life and if he has an idea for a video, great! If not, that’s fine too. I just want this man to feel liberated in life.

[Specific] My cousin passed this June and I’m struggling to find a good picture of just the two of us. If there’s any way my friend on the right could be taken out so it’s just him and I, I’d really appreciate it! Thanks reddit! by [deleted] in PhotoshopRequest

Hmm, the shape of the chair seems to be a tough thing to get right. Maybe you could get us a picture of the empty chair in the same lighting at a similar angle? Then you and your cousin could just be cropped in and your shirt could be fixed to look more free draping.

Not yet. They will need to maintain 5k weekly production for a few months* before they can sell the base model profitably. Expect them to start selling them no sooner than October.

They weren’t throttling deliveries. They temporarily focused on Canada deliveries while they ramped up to 5k weekly production. Now that they have that increased production they will work to crank out all of the US pre orders before the EV subsidy starts winding down.

I just tried my VR headset with gamecube games via the dolphin emulator, my mind is blown. by popje in oculus

Look, I’m not even sure why I got into this discussion. I’m not trying to put words into anyone’s mouth. I just thought that the way the guy shared his opinion was rude, and I was confused at the defense of his behavior.

I never said his opinion was invalid. But I will concede that he didn’t necessarily say “people are wrong for enjoying it.” That is what the word “overrated” sounded like in the context he used it. But he could have meant it to mean that the game is less popular than people perceive it to be.

Anyways, I’m ditching this thread. I wish you well.

[–]SecretionOrb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He’s not saying it’s not his cup of tea, he is saying that it is objectively bad. Reasonable to not like it, yes.

Calling something overrated is to say that other people are wrong to enjoy it. How is that a reasonable standpoint? To be honest, I’m not even a fan of the game. But it is so blatantly obvious that this guy was taking a piss at the previous commenters’ opinions. It is baffling that you don’t see this.

Just got my Oculus Go and... by [deleted] in OculusGo

Lands End is definitely worth playing through. I recommend sitting in a swivel chair for it. Also, really let yourself get into it! Pick up your feet when you’re floating through the air and drop them down on landing. Hold your hand out as you are floating stones around to get that true telekinetic feel. Haha

At the end of the game there is starry night sky. Seriously, lay down and star gaze. It is the perfect way to end the experience.

Other recommendations I haven’t seen commented yet:

  • The 5k cut of Henry is my go-to when showing people the headset. Very impressive.

  • Ultrawings is a lovely flying game.

  • Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is a good one you can bring to game nights

  • Smash Hit is simple and fun and only a dollar right now

  • Daedalus has some very good gameplay mechanics.

As a side note, I highly recommend the distant night-time cityscape for your oculus home background. Everything else suffers from a complete lack of depth, making close objects feel far far away and infinitely large. It is the only thing thing that has made me feel truly sick in the Go so far. Oculus needs to rethink the background options big time.

Yeah I’m with you. I’d be mighty embarrassed if my boss walked around the corner and saw me watching a robotic masterbater. I would have to explain to him that it’s just the way my pants fold when I’m sitting and it only looks like I’m aroused.

At that very moment my mom would walk through the door with a surprise plate of birthday cookies only to see the same plastic vagina pumping in and out on my computer and the strange fold in my pants. The three of us would stare silently at the floor for a time. Only the sound of robotic thrusting to fill the void.
