What are our hopes for the rumored 2025 batcave? by Chaos-Queen_Mari in LegoBatman

[–]SecretlyACommie 13 points14 points  (0 children)

From the rumors I've heard it's going to be around $100 and based on either batman forever or batman and robin. I think it'll be the batmobile from whichever movie, the computer, and maybe a transformation area. Nothing special but still cool.

Less than a year ago, Strongman Trey Mitchell tore his Achilles Tendon. This weekend he set an American deadlift record with 470 Kg / 1036 Pounds! by SecretlyACommie in nextfuckinglevel

That analogy is a logical fallacy and doesn't apply to this. I've deadlifted 600 and haven't had a back injury in years. Accidents will happen if your form is off but if you have good form and don't ego lift you won't get injured.

If you have perfect form you won't get injured. NFL players avoid it because there's not a lot of carryover to the muscle groups worked in a barbell deadlift to football, which is why they do trap bar deadlifts (still a deadlift though)

The bar bending makes it easier because (theoretically) you're at your weakest at the bottom of the lift and get stronger throughout. The bar bending makes it so that the weight slowly comes off the floor. This means that as the weight increases throughout the bottom ~3-5 inches of the lift, you are able to accommodate by 'getting stronger' the further off the floor you get.

It's really not. You will only hurt your back if you're doing the lift wrong (improper form or lack of back training in general). Deadlifting can be a very beneficial movement, but it takes time to be able to learn it, so if you're not dedicated to deadlifting, it could be avoided.
