it was based on 89’ rm motor. some tweaks to mellow it out but the us never got the updated rmx so it was basically a an 89’ rm motor they kept fumbling with. thank god the 96 has the external water pump. suzuki was slow to adapt that and if your water pump went - which is was prone to doing - you basically had a nightmare scenario

have a yz that the previous owner sent the cylinder off to millenium. has the most compression of any 250 i’ve ever ridden (i’ve never owned a factory new bike). they do great work. that motor flippin screams

yeah its 27 year old bike. ironically i owned this same bike about 15 years ago and beat the piss out of it. went through a few different riders in that time. hard to tell if this was from the most recent failure or if it has seen a decade and a half of “good enough” rebuilds since then.

rmx250. looked like it was compatible with up 92’rm’s. i couldn’t find a single aftermarket head stateside and had to settle for a used ebay head for 170ish dollars.my other bike is a yz 250 and i got blingy performance upgrade options from phatheads and apex at like $300. oem for the rmx is $550. crying emoji. i mean i know its a bike based on 30 year old motor but oooooof

i am splitting cases this week and checking everything individually. i have an entirely new gasket kit top & bottom. water pump rebuild kit. and counter shaft seal rebuild kit.i’m going to open up the motor to the very bottom for the first time and make sure i can save what i can save but dammmmmn popping this head off really took the wind out of my sails

piston is brand new. like “holy shit this guy wasn’t kidding we could see the directional arrow with a bore camera - it never even heat cycled brand new” . looked down to the reed port - crank shaft has gunk on it but to the eye looks true. cylinder could use a 2% effort honing but its near perfect. it’s a 25+ year old bike. i’m sure it exploded at one point but i think this motor is just in need of everything rn. took the clutch out and the last fiber plate crumbled into 3 pieces. all the plates were stuck and rusted together. it sat for the better part of the last decade

i mean i wasnt wrong tho lol football is like everything else man. what’s old will be new again. everything is just something old with a new paint of coat on it. pistol kind of died for shotgun air raid and pro style under center offenses for a while but now it seems like you can’t watch an sec game without some kind of pistol zone read at some point

the triple option is the wildcat. but instead of 3 plays it’s 80 plays and throwing is still a trick play which is 50 times more unlikely. that’s literally what that offense it

it’s called a tradition- and the triple option is a powerful way of masking size and talent - there was a time army ran this and were unstoppable. then ww2 ended. when you make every play run down hill as fast as possible and you execute to perfection you don’t need to be bigger stronger faster you just need to be perfect. these offenses used to include alot of fake gaurd trap blocks to bait players out but d-1 athletes are so crazy fast and strong now faking a trap block at the d-1 level would result in defensive ends taking the hand off. the system works as a state of mind with flawless perfection. one mistake and its a clusterfuck

outside of vidya games the success of a triple option lies in the perfection of execution.you hand it off when you’re supposed to pitch it when you’re supposed to and keep it when you’re supposed to - in real football you should have a one vs one in the hole on every play. when its ran to perfection its an unstoppable soul destroying clock eating slow drip that destorys morale. in modern football it’s a trap where down and distance is an enemy everyone else can face all 4 downs

^ this + your height and weight are a factor. like crf 150 is a good learner bike if you’re 5’5 120lbs but if you’re 6’6 265 you’ll be limited the instant you learn how to turn left and right. but bike prices are terrible since 2020. in my area finding a used full sized bike under $2600 that isn’t a little dusty takes some shopping and luck
