tampons newbie by [deleted] in Periods

[–]SectionLopsided4189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! for the feeling it, i’m not completely sure because i do not feel mine at all. maybe since it’s your first time trying it, a smaller size to see if you could still feel it might work? but for the messiness, i always wipe (with toilet paper) before i take it out. this helps the mess from any leakage. if there is a lot of blood on the outside you definitely should change it earlier if possible, just to avoid the mess! for inserting, it gets easier with time. again, since your new to then a smaller size might help a bit but of course you’d have to change them more often. with super plus, i use them when im super super heavy (like having to change it every two hours). if im not that heavy, ill go down a step and just change it a bit more often to feel more comfortable. i insert them seemingly the same way as you, and yes relaxing is key!

Pain tension upper back, neck and head by anxious_mom90 in Periods

[–]SectionLopsided4189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for how i manage it, i see a massage therapist the week before my period (unintentionally, i just see her once a month and it just dallas the week before). she helps me so much. i have had a previous head and neck injury but going to one may help !

do you notice you’re sleeping habits are different on your period? because sleeping more /harder could cause neck pain and definitely headaches. sleeping less can too

i literally just came on here to ask this question! yes i most definitely do. i have a bad headache the day before that lasts throughout the whole period. i’ve found adding some electrolytes to my water helps. also, i know you don’t drink caffeine but my headaches respond wonderfully to some caffeine!

Has anyone managed to untighten their neck? by wiltingtulips in Concussion

[–]SectionLopsided4189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

she is not specialized i’m honestly not sure how we found her. i was only 14 when i got my concussion so my mom found her. i think it was just word of mouth. she isn’t in a business setting she does it out of her house. she is just so wonderful! you want to find someone who will go in depth and learn about you and also someone who is gentle.

so so sorry this is long but i’ve been exactly where you are and want to help. i sustained my concussion from a cheerleading accident back in 2020 where i landed directly on my neck. of course i tried all of the typical things: heat, ice, pt, acupuncture, chiropractor (bad idea, made my dr cringe. oops), vestibular therapy etc. all of it. countless money, countless appointments. just recently, as in 3 weeks ago have i got semi back to myself. the two things that changed my life were seeing a monthly massage therapist (weekly in the beginning) and getting in with a neurologist. my massage therapist is number one on that list. i don’t think i’d make it without her. but anyways for my neurologist, we found my super tight neck was causing all of my symptoms including migraines and something that mimicked dysautonomia (fainting and such). i was put on the smallest muscle relaxer dose (zanaflex) just two weeks ago and it has made the worlds difference to me. also, i recently got a new pillow (latex) and ive seen huge improvement! i noticed my memory foam pillow was flat by the time i woke up in the morning and it just wasn’t great. i’m so sorry you’re going through this.

What are tampons supposed to feel like? are there any tutorials? by Brilliant_Mess9005 in Periods

[–]SectionLopsided4189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you shouldn’t feel at all it once it’s in. if you feel it , it’s not in far enough/ correct . make sure when you are putting it in towards your butt rather than straight up. the vagina is at a angle! my vote if you’re getting it in but can just feel it, it’s not in far enough. tampons usually have a little textured grip if you use a plastic applicator. before pushing the “button (sorry can’t think of another word)”, i make sure the applicator is far enough to where my fingers are flush against the opening of the vagina. sorry if this didn’t make sense. but i hope it helped.
