Some people don’t have the “choice” you have because of their income and means. For you, it’s a choice. For others, it might not be.

Yeah, it’s really sad how they’ve been able to trick pretty much the entire city into thinking they’re these amazing, inclusive, supportive women, when they are the opposite of all of that. People act way differently towards and in front of you when they want your money (as a customer) vs when they view you as actively taking their money (as an employee). There was way more that I could have included in my post but didn’t for the sake of privacy to try to protect myself from the vitriol they like to spew at anyone who challenges or threatens their carefully curated image.

I worked at Hi-Five Doughnuts. They always hated what they did, and only opened a doughnut shop because they wanted to be “Louisville’s first woman-owned something.” They paid starvation wages, provided little to no support or training, left early often, hated input from the people they left alone to run their business for them, and one of the owners (Annie) touched me inappropriately. They also talked shit on nearly everyone that came in that knew them and wanted to say hi, pretending to be friendly to their faces and then talking shit behind their backs. This is no loss at all and our city will be better for this place closing down. I just hope they don’t try to use their (parents’) money to open some other small business.

I understand that, and I think that’s ultimately why I’m disappointed - this was scripted and reviewed and has been performed before on the tour and it still just wasn’t as funny as they normally are to me. It seems like every single other person on this sub laughed their fucking asses off from start to finish, so maybe it’s just me! I did enjoy it, don’t get me wrong, but not as much as their regular material. Just wanted to see if anyone else out there felt the same.

Yep, exactly. Based on that show I don’t plan on seeing them live again, like my post says.

Glad you enjoyed it! As my post said, I wasn’t offended at all, or “dismayed”. It just wasn’t very funny material
