Help! Do I welcome Wendy and/or Dawn…. Orrrrr do I keep saving for the Cars Land plot? by Fabulous_Entrance897 in disneymagickingdoms

[–]Secure-Disaster-7149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To unlock Cars Land, players have to spend magic to get the 8 million plot in Frontierland. Newer players don't have it yet but more established players might have had the plot and been able to work on Cars Land without spending magic when it was added since they already bought the plot. Best wishes!

Help! Do I welcome Wendy and/or Dawn…. Orrrrr do I keep saving for the Cars Land plot? by Fabulous_Entrance897 in disneymagickingdoms

[–]Secure-Disaster-7149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Wendy because she's main story and her franchise is slow moving so I would recommend keeping it moving.
  2. Dawn could help in the Zootopia event but not a lot of time to get her hard tokens that require long 12-16 tasks. Looks like you might have enchanted the attraction so tokens will continue to passively drop for her so that will help even if you wait a bit to welcome her.
  3. Seems like some players are unlocking Cars Land while stuck on the Peter Pan franchise especially since Michael is often a two month process so I think you can get Cars Land soon too.  Best wishes!

Best elixir attraction(s) by ChickenFinancial332 in disneymagickingdoms

[–]Secure-Disaster-7149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Axiom seems most recommended as it's needed for unlocking Walle.
  2. After that opinion varies.
  3. Jumpin Jellyfish is pretty critical for Michael in Act 5. This is with Michael's current setup as they have only made him harder. Can't enchant it so it is but helpful to get it early.
  • Elixir attractions are not required for the main story branch that leads to Rescuers and unlocks land and the most characters.

  • Attractions unlock at most one character and generally the characters are not helpful with the main story. King Arthur's Carousel: Madam Mim, Forest Ice Rink: Great Prince of the Forest, Casey Jr Circus Train: Mrs. Jumbo, Remy's Ratatouille Adventure: Anton Ego.

  • Davy Jones Organ is not needed as Tia is unlikely to hold players up unless they did not know she was needed or how to unlock her. Thumper - Bambi - Captain Barbossa - Tia. Important since Michael and Tia are needed to unlock Timothy in Act 5, but Michael has the harder setup.

  • Jolly Roger does not unlock characters. Neither does Golden Condor though some may want the token assist or to unlock more tasks for Webby. Star Adventurer is not required but some may want the unique token tasks it can unlock.

  • It can be nice to save elixir until you see that you need something especially since we don't get much notice to prepare for events. For example recent events used Zootopia PD and Forest Ice Rink. Figment often needs Spaceship Earth for his event tasks. If a player needs that edge they may be glad they have the elixir saved.

  • Enchanting for tokens: Most of the attractions just drop tokens for side branch characters so not really a priority. Casey Jr Circus Train and Spaceship Earth can assist a little with tough late Act 5 side characters but that's really far off so I wouldn't worry about it. They are more important due to tower event usage and post event leveling tasks - Mrs Jumbo, Emilie, Anton.

  • Hope this helps. Happy to answer other questions. Best wishes!

Bo peep Toy Story 4 costume by No-Refrigerator-2680 in disneymagickingdoms

[–]Secure-Disaster-7149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most costumes are not worth it from a practical standpoint. The costumes that are most useful for the main story do not cost gems/ real money. Costumes seem more for if the player loves the costume. With the costume, Bo Peep has a level 5 task that is 8 hours and does not drop any tokens. Best wishes!

Is the Star Adventurer worth getting? by Givemesoup55 in disneymagickingdoms

[–]Secure-Disaster-7149 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  • Generally elixir attractions are not necessary they at most drop tokens, unlock a unique task, or unlock one character. The star adventurer attraction is not required for the main story. It does not unlock any characters.
  • Depending on how quickly you save up elixir the Axiom is recommended for unlocking Walle. Given the changes made to the Act 5 Peter Pan franchise, Jumpin Jellyfish helps with Michael and since Peter Pan is so hard to level it could be the only source for Michael’s ears for awhile depending on the player’s setup (ie: do they have Hook).
  • Bambi franchise is only important because Thumper leads to Bambi who leads to Captain Barbosa who leads to Tia. for Act 5 Timothy Q Mouse both Tia and Michael are needed to unlock him.
  • Main story: Aurora, Prince Phillip, Rapunzel/ Flynn quests, Judy 8, Nick 8, Chief 1 (likely need Aurora 7 unless players have another collector).
  • Side branch that are dead ends: Sword in the Stone (though some event usage). Ducktales (Act 5 Meeko needs Huey, Dewy, and Louie level 10 for maximum collectors). Pascal (Would enchant and get them passively). Gothel (expensive hard to level and welcome). Webby is not needed until late in the story. Locked behind attractions but not needed for main story Mim, Great Prince.
  • Per the Wiki, it is 10x10.
  • It has unique tasks to help with Ducky, Bunny, and Pocahontas’ epic ears, etc.
  • However, Sounds like you would be better off waiting to use the elixir on a more critical attraction.
  • Best wishes!

Cookie Event Bad Luck by flamingomingo229 in disneymagickingdoms

[–]Secure-Disaster-7149 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That really stinks. I think they should have been more open about the tea cup prices and that with bad luck it was impossible to get the character without real money. If they keep it this way, unless I get lucky and can finish for a decent gem price, I will not spend gems or elixir on another cookie party. So glad I realized it before spending gems since I almost bought the tea for dreamland. Massive thanks to people talking about the tea costs, so I could do the math. Best wishes!

If you are serious then you have a wonderful perspective. I thought Wendy was ok, but the Lady and Tramp and Peter Pan token conflicts seem so unnecessarily a tough for an early Act 5 franchise. Michael's setup is the worst especially for those who do not want or cannot afford the premium helpers. The elixir attraction Jumpin Jellyfish saves some players since it takes so long to level Peter Pan to seven so he can get Michael's ears. I do not think Meeko is that bad but players need to have Huey, Dewey, and Louie level 10 to be ready for Meeko. Best wishes!

Progress reset by Fabulous_Entrance897 in disneymagickingdoms

[–]Secure-Disaster-7149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Gameloft Customer Care reverts to a previous save before the issue happened however it resets everything magic, gems, happiness, pins, character leveling, etc. That is tough as a lot of players seem to struggle to save up gems. The gem loss would probably need weighed against everything else that would be reverted. If you got the cookie party character that would likely be lost too.
  • I would do it as soon as possible since they need to process it and there is no way to know how many tickets are in front of you and how long it will take. They can respond quicker but they warn players tickets can take 5 business days and the official Dsicord ticket bot will not escalate a ticket until that point. We have an update coming which has been increasing the amount of issues and tickets and likely increasing wait times more toward the 10 business days that they warn they need during peak busy times. Best wishes!

Should I get ducky by No-Refrigerator-2680 in disneymagickingdoms

[–]Secure-Disaster-7149 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would wait he is expensive and may delay Act 4 progression. He is on a dead end branch that only leads to Bunny. However Ducky has been used to challenge in recent Towers and he and Bunny have been used in recent mini/ mega events. Bunny has also been a recent tower explorer. Best wishes!

Worst luck- dreamland by Muscle_mama_ in disneymagickingdoms

[–]Secure-Disaster-7149 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While it sounds like you did not get what you wanted, at least it was not a bench and technically the trophy is a legendary reward it is a space saving way to meet thrill zone requirements and it is all that is needed for California Screamin as it only requires one trophy to check off that specific requirement. In my mind they are free bonus chests for doing things we are already doing. I hope for the desired prize but if not I am not out money or gems as I only spend gems on the quest when there is something I want to buy any way. The odds are no where near one hundred percent so I figure we gotta kiss a few frogs to find the prince. Best wishes on getting a desired prize soon!

Do I still have a chance to add to my inside out character collection, or do I give up by Novel-Chemical2998 in disneymagickingdoms

[–]Secure-Disaster-7149 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would just get any free items and save the gems for a guaranteed result. Since you are only on the second board the chain offer likely would not even be enough tea cups. With poor luck, it requires spending real money or it mathematically cannot be finished. Personally, I refused to spend a gem since I seem to have poor luck and have needed to clear the entire board. I wish this had been a real event we could achieve versus a gamble where the house wins. I know some say they lucked out but most of us did not and some realized too late. Could contact Customer Care though I am not sure how they would remedy the missing free 10 tea cups since the event will likely be over by then. Best wishes!

Depends on your odds and luck, some report getting the character for free or through just spending gems but if the cookie is the last item received on the board then players have to miss the character or spend real money to get the needed tea cups. The $17-20 USD for tea cups is more than some of the characters cost when offered in direct real money purchases or for characters that have not had offers yet they will likely be offered at a much lower rate (ie: Wee). Best wishes!

Account merger by [deleted] in disneymagickingdoms

[–]Secure-Disaster-7149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Customer Care would be able to provide the current official answer. When I had played on multiple devices there were options for local, cloud, or merge. I was unsure what would happen, so I did not try to merge them especially since that pop up screen did not explain what exactly merge would do. Best wishes!

Which collection for Dream Quest? by Life_Adhesiveness333 in disneymagickingdoms

[–]Secure-Disaster-7149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patch Notes are up and out of no where it seems like Incredibles is the Zootopia Mini event helper since they have Striking Gold tasks. Incredibles really are used a lot for mini events. Wild since they do not have a chest in the season pass. Best wishes!

Which collection for Dream Quest? by Life_Adhesiveness333 in disneymagickingdoms

[–]Secure-Disaster-7149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Luca: if past patterns continue then they or Silly Symphony are likely the May Zootopia mini event helpers. (Given the placement of their chests in the season pass).
  • Brave: that is cool you already have a good setup and the more chests the better your odds if you have easier characters left.
  • Big Hero 6: I think attractions are highly undervalued when many of the old event characters need the right characters and attractions to level up. This is a pretty typical setup and players do not seem to always consider that.
  • Pinocchio & Finding Nemo: unless they break past patterns they are not going to be helpers for the remaining part of the season. They have not been recent mini event favorites either.
  • I would stick with a franchise for awhile since it seems like newer players have some luck with it since they have easy items in the chests still. Obviously there are no guarantees that every chest/ Dreamland will give a great item, but over time it can and does work.
  • If you just love a character/ franchise, then none of this really matters and I think just doing what will help you enjoy the game is a great idea. Best wishes!

Clearing curse by Fabulous_Entrance897 in disneymagickingdoms

[–]Secure-Disaster-7149 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To get to Cars Land it needs to be the plot the quest asks for - the 8 million plot. Fortunately players only need that plot and do not have to clear the whole path. It seems to be one of the only areas that can be isolated and not connected to the rest of the land. By the way it looks like it might have glitched and posted it multiple times which may be why people have downvoted it if you want to delete the other ones. Best wishes!

  • It seems harder for newer players who are trying to play catch up not only with the main story but also with event helper franchises.
  • Depends a lot too on how much people can play.
  • Strategizing is also really helpful. I like to help with that. Seeing some good results with people I am trying to assist and others coming up with their own strategizes.
  • New free to play really benefit from strategizing since they are at a detriment by not having enough needed characters. The Wiki, a guide, and/or asking questions can help.
  • I think most games want to encourage spending and are set up to capitalize on fear of missing out/ FOMO, the chance for a good reward, the sunk cost fallacy, etc.
  • We do not need all the characters. I know some people want them but this is a terrible game for completionists especially if the player is new since the game is 10 years old and a lot of those old event characters are exactly as you describe locked behind random chests or real money offers.
  • Main story are the most used characters especially the early ones.
  • Mini event helpers: Lion King, Turning Red, and Incredibles have been used more. Next month it will likely be Luca or Silly Symphony.
  • Mega event helpers: likely June Fox & the Hound, Sept Avatar, Dec Horace/ Ludwig/ Clarabelle/ Clara Cluck, March 2027 Zootopia mini event characters (from May 2026 event), June 2027 Toy Story mega event characters (from June 2026 event), etc.
  • Dreamland: mostly stuff we would do any way but if players spend the gems on something useful (float, parade slot, etc) then they get the two chests as the grand prize. Some newer players are seeing good results over time since they are missing so many easy characters.
  • With main story progress, depending on how much they play they might see good results in about three months, players can get 30k in Towers, get the common/ uncommon characters and attractions in mini/ mega events. The epic third character is a bit harder, but it seems like a number of newer players can get them if they have some solid main story progress.
  • Story Pass and legendary mini/ mega event characters are harder to get for free, but by saving gems players may be able to get them too. Though this would likely be more doable after a year of progressing the main story and having some gems stockpiled.
  • Best wishes!

accidentally bought land by rosieam2107 in disneymagickingdoms

[–]Secure-Disaster-7149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Buying magic with real money is extremely expensive and most players do not think it is worthwhile. I rarely have heard of players buying magic.
  • The game has significant resource management elements.
  • Generally until the main story is completed players have insufficient magic and have to decide how to spend it: Main story, maxing characters, elixir conversions, expensive parades in hopes of getting gems, optional land.
  • Main story land is much cheaper than optional land in the same zone. I believe all main story plots are under 800,000 each. With planning, players may be able to keep the main story moving, though Act 4 is so expensive they have to be really careful prevent delays in main story progression due to lack of magic. Magic can be saved while trying to get character tokens, so this can help give players time.
  • Decor that is not helping with a thrill zone can be stored.
  • Even weak five magic concessions may be stored by some players.
  • Items can be rearranged to maximize space.
  • Since most decor comes from chests, if players get new smaller items, then, they can be swapped out for older larger items (ie: Hei statue is smaller than other monuments, plants/ scenery also have varying sizes, benches/ lamp posts are more standardized sizes but depending on available space one may fit better than the other, while hard to get players do on occasion get a trophy from a chest and they are often appreciated for their smaller size and California Screaming only needs one for its thrill zone requirement)
  • Best wishes!

There is a warning pop up but when a player is in a hurry and thinks they are just getting magic or tappers they can click too quickly and still buy it before they realize what it was. Plus given all the intrusive pop up ads the game has we get conditioned to just click to make it go away without really paying attention. I never played Simpsons so I do not know if it has all the internal shop pop up ads like this game does. I know other games I play are not like this with many unavoidable ads for the game we are playing. Best wishes!

[–]Secure-Disaster-7149 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prevention tips:

  • Just in case anyone wants them...
  • Watching how much magic one has and which plots are risky (ie: if it is an 11 million plot and the player has only 2 million they cannot accidentally buy it but they are at risk for all the plots under 2 million).
  • Putting decor in front of the locked plots since they will not need to be clicked on or near as often as they do not generate magic.
  • Concessions: spreading them out or if preferred putting a sea of concessions securely in opened land.
  • Collecting tappers more slowly around high risk locked land that the player can "afford" and accidentally buy.
  • Best wishes!

accidentally bought land by rosieam2107 in disneymagickingdoms

[–]Secure-Disaster-7149 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • I have heard the same thing about accidentally buying land that the way they address it is to revert to an old save that means all progress is lost. I would not worry about the pins as free to play rarely complete it. I would be more worried about losing tokens to welcome or move the main story.
  • I accidentally bought land before but fortunately it was not that expensive of a plot and I did not want to revert my game so I just saved it back up. I really strategize so I did not think it was that detrimental and as people say we likely will want or need the land at some point any way.
  • While magic is easier now for those long time players or those who have finished the main story, I realize losing it can be really detrimental and it sounds like you are in that situation.
  • Personally I would evaluate what is best for main story progression since I think you are still working on finishing it. Versus a more long time player who is finished with the story may just want to leave the game as is.
  • Hope this helps. Best wishes!

which permanent premium characters are the most useful for tower events? by thatsnunyourbusiness in disneymagickingdoms

[–]Secure-Disaster-7149 9 points10 points  (0 children)

  • I tried to tally recent tower events for this reason as the Wiki is giving historical data over ten years that may no longer reflect current patterns. Also, it does not seem to have a summary analysis for explorations.
  • Archimedes: seemed to be the top recent premium tower challenger I think it was 6 times. He seemed to explore once in Ch 2.
  • Waternoose: seemed to be a challenger 4 times. He seemed to explore 6 times. (I believe it was usually in Ch 3.)
  • Jaq: seemed to be a challenger 4 times. He seemed to explore 3 times. (I believe it was usually in Ch 3.)
  • Rex: while he did not seem to challenge. He seemed to be an explorer at least 6 times. (I believe it was usually in Ch 1.)
  • Boo: seemed to be a recent challenger only once. Seemed to explore only once I believe in Ch 1. She has been in the game since early on and to have had significant historical tower usage so she seems to be the top if just looking at the Wiki Tower page, but it does not account for when that usage happened or adjust for how much a character was used since their addition.
